Hearing both his press conference so far and all Ryles has done is rile me up.
We didn't need a rookie coach. Why give the keys to junior coach with no first grade experience and expect him to navigate his way through the hopelessness we are? It's a big hole. He looks lost and is digging himself deeper every game and every time he opens his mouth. There is no urgency to anything he is saying. He seems like he is in slow motion the whole time without adding any value. He states the obvious. It's like he had already surrendered the year. To me, he just looks happy to be a first grade coach

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. He seems extremely honest. He's aware he has work to do and he obviously knows it not an easy quick fix. He obviously wasn't expecting Mitchell Moses to be out for the first 6 or 7 weeks. He's inherited a lot of baggage and considered it all I think his demeanor is quite relaxed and optimistic. I think he will be a very good coach and it's very early days. It's amazing what a couple of wins can do for a teams confidence. There needs to be some obvious changes still and Ryles is aware of that but he's working with what he has. There's a lot of inexperienced players that will only get better over time. A rebuild doesn't happen over night
yet he buys and picks the likes of Kautoga, that shows how green he is
You say "a rebuild doesn't happen overnight" yet all we keep hearing for the last 40 years is how we're 'rebuilding'. How long is this night?!
I would have liked for him to have elaborated on the positive aspects of the performances the last 2 weeks.
I understand he's bringing new things to the table but what is he seeing that's positive he just didn't mention what areas these were.
Could it have just been rhetoric perhaps. That to find a positive would mean sacking 60% of our playing squad.
To me that's our next step.
Just basic football is eluding established NRL players.
Its hard to even work out Wisemantels attacking plan. 1 out and kick on the 4th or 5th to anywhere just dosnt work for me.
I'm not sure what Nathan Browns 475 odd first grade games as coaching experience is giving us.
We are failing in even the fundamentals of the game. kick chase as a group / defensive line. Simple defence, catching the ball, passing the ball backwards, seem to be beyond so many. Feels at times like school boy level. It raises questions about what we were doing in the pre season as a playing squad. It's hard to take reporters / pundits take on our buildup. There assurances come into question.
I'd like to know what Ryles plan may be to turn this around. I'm very afraid we are in wooden spoon territory so early in the season
I'm not sure what Nathan Browns 475 odd first grade games as coaching experience is giving us....Indigestion
Experience is only relative, it would seem that many assistant coach's that have not made it in the primary sense have done well in the secondary role. How you use experience once it is aknowledged is really up to the primary leader to use that tool effectively.
Simply we do not understand the causes and other elements that have caused this disaster, we can throw the wheat at the wall and some may hit the target, but until we understand what is the target/cause we cannot make these type of suggestions to "blame" single incumbents.
Commonly called "dont throw the baby out with the bathwater".......a thought of solace to you would be if Ryles resigned or was sacked tomorrow, Nathan Brown is the new senior coach and you can't call him a rookie Lol.
Oh Yes! we went down that road last year! Lol again.
Ryles said something to the effect of at least I have N.Brown here to lean on, he has been here before. That is all well and good, but does he know anything about getting out of said hole.
N. Brown inspires zero confidence in me. None. Why would I have any? Has he ever built a good culture? Has he ever been a driver of one? Do players look up to him?
I think Ryles may have underestimated how large the difference is between being part of something that was good before you got there and creating/driving a culture to be good when it is currently on life support. He needs help... and N.Brown ain't the guy. You can't just pull it out of your ass all of a sudden.
Ryles may have the goods, we don't know yet. N.Brown has shown he does not.
💯
Guess what we give the media ammunition and those guys are feasting on it.
When you have a moron like Hooper ripping strips off the accountants running the club and is basically sarcastically calling them idiots you know your basically cannon fodder.
There feasting on the contract situation and the clauses mess yet here we are 2 games in given up 88 points we invite everyone in to have a crack at the team club and it's fans. All because we now realise preseason looked like a pisstake like you mention BE they look nothing like they did against Newcastle there making errors giving up cheap field position and off the back aren't completing. It's a shit show right now and the only people changing this narrative is the coach and his players whose going to blink.
If Ryles can't keep this group together after 10 rounds man we are adding wood work to our extensive collection.
Brown is the attack coach not wise mantel @
