The Storm have given the all clear for Ryles to start with the Eels at the end of the week. This hopefully allows Ryles a head start in fixing the mess at Parra.
Melbourne Storm will release Jason Ryles from his contract early to begin preparations for his new role as head coach of the Parramatta Eels.
Ryles was last week appointed to the Eels role and will finish up with Storm at the end of this week.
“On behalf of everyone at the Melbourne Storm, we congratulate Jason on his appointment to senior coach at the Eels,”
Storm CEO, Justin Rodski
“Given the significance of this opportunity for Jason, we have agreed an early release is in the best interest of both parties.”
“Jason returned to Storm for the 2024 season, and although only back at the club for a short time, he has had an immediate positive impact on our players, football department and broader club.”
“Jason is a quality person and coach, we thank him for his contribution in 2024 and wish him, his wife Alana and his family all the best for the future.”

Thats how you run a club ...You make it difficult for Ryles to poach any players from Melbourne accross to Parra by showing him the door immediately....I know there are things called phones but gotta give it to Melbourne here
Over to you Ryles the shit show is there for your magical touch....hope you aint Kearney 2.0
They didn't even wait for Origin (Ponissi involvement). Kudos to the Storm. Professional. Decisive. No mess. No fuss. No innuendo. No drama. I know they're hated by many, but I do admire & respect the club.
Coryn what a let down it will be for Ryles coming to Parramatta from the storm , he's going from working with the very best to the very worst.
Agree he's coming to one of the worst run club in the league but from his point of view, he's stepping up to a Head Coaching role. You can either be a career assistant coach at the best run club or take your chances, back yourself and grab the opportunity with both hands.
Keep the dream alive long suffering Eels !!!
OK, things will move faster then hopefully. Considering where we are this is good.
It doesn't mean Ryles won't attract or bring players with him. Good news
Let's hope so CE as a rookie coach will struggle big time with the hierarchy at Parra and a very average roster.
Great news he is very much needed to start sorting the roster now and get assistant's organised for next year I think he will do well the club needs a fresh start badly
