Ryles confirms Pezet play

Michael Chammas is reporting, though not final, the deal is close. The reason for the deal is they only want Pezet for one year max to not block the path of their talent of the future. https://www.zerotackle.com/munster-reveals-contract-intention-ryles-confirms-pezet-play-228340/

Well it is hard as Joash more likely plays Fullback in Cup and with Hawkins and Volkman more likely the halves in Cup, where does Talataina get reps other than Flegg? Still do not agree with it but Ryles has a plan and all we can do is hope for the best. It is very weird but i wonder, just wonder if there is more to it here where we have a Brisbane player on our mind and this is a type of you can have him if you do this.

Not saying It is the case, tin foil hat theory.

But Ryles has a plan behind it, not saying i think it makes sense but let's see how it goes.

      • Pops if we are going down the path of Forwards returning to the halves after extended  time in the pack, hell we have Ryan Matterson and Brendan Hands both former halves and we could of kept Carty.

I still stand by my point that we have no real first grade half to compliment Mitch. I feel that Dylan Walker has lost a lot of pace, put on some pounds and can't get through an 80minute stint. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

As for Pezet not being able to run, not sure if i subscribe to that yet, but i'll attack it from a different angle. Does Pezet in the team allow Mitch Moses to run more.

        • Stop gap for a season I bet Walker could do the job.

  • I think it will be Hawkins and talatina for our halves in cup. Volkman likely Ron Massey/back up.

Only person who might be lost long term is twiddle but don't see him becoming better than iongi (or joash) so would likely have only been a back up half at best next season

    • The positive for Twidle is he can play various positions. He has the body to play other positions and learn those spots.

  • I might be alone here but I think it would be a great move.

Pezet would slot into the on-field structure Ryles is employing as he knows the storm system

Mitch has a genuine ball playing half to relieve pressure and allow his game to develop as a runner/support player as Ryles has stated

It gives the team a genuine shot at the top 8(maybe 4) and showcases our team development and attractiveness to possible future signings, and

if Joash is the future 5/8, it gives him a year to play that position for a year in NSW cup, learn his craft and back up NRL.....Or

Ryles may have something already in the works for 2027 (like Luai) and just needs someone for one year to fast track premiership prospects.

    • I also think signing TDS was a waste, Joash would be a great 14

      • Not when Ryles seems to want a two pronged Hooker attack and Papali'i is not a Hooker.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if the club isn't making a play for Burton in 2027.

    • I hope not. Burton is a one trick pony and that single trick has become too risky to use with the style of play in the NRL over the last year or two.

If Burton is our answer then we're asking the wrong question.

      • Burton can be a top 3 Centre in this comp. That says something.
