Well it is hard as Joash more likely plays Fullback in Cup and with Hawkins and Volkman more likely the halves in Cup, where does Talataina get reps other than Flegg? Still do not agree with it but Ryles has a plan and all we can do is hope for the best. It is very weird but i wonder, just wonder if there is more to it here where we have a Brisbane player on our mind and this is a type of you can have him if you do this.

As much as I disagree with this whole exercise.....I refuse to believe that Ryles involvement is anything but bad judgement and not any favours to Anasta or anyone else for that matter. Doesn't mean Anasta is not an influence notwithstanding!
I alternatively could be coerced into thinking that somehow Bellamey has advised Ryles!
This rationale of not wanting to hold back juniors by appointing Pezet has that smell of "bullshit" that Ryles alluded to in his podcast with the "Johns Boys"......just cannot rationalise it.....we went after Pezet (disagree but subjectively) for a term period i.e 3/4 year contract. At this point I understand the intention! BUT WAIT
Anasta comes forward with a new player in the game (Bronco's) and then Ryles has been told you are going to miss him because of ....lets say money or wants to be a Bronc.
Ryles then relents to the suggestion of the swap to make up for the difference of his disappoinment in losing him altogether, justifies the "smell of bullshit" with the perception of a partial win.
This may be deep, but being an old money market trader I have seen how convoluted thinking can fuck you in the head.....someone needs to get to Ryles and explain he has fcuked up!!!

As you pointed out this forces the 2 primary 6 long term options to FB and Flegg respectivley where their development will be stunted. Additionally we will may lose promising players like Twidle to accomodate the shuffle caused by Pezet coming.
I wonder if it was a player that he had no relationship with would he make the same move?
Well that is the thing, neither of them i feel will see full benefit of the year developing when they are not starting at 5/8 in either competition.
I do not rate Joash highly as a 5/8, though he is ok and passable. Can we get by with him at 5/8? Maybe and that is a way for him to develop further by playing FG at that spot. I wonder if Volkman had signed a top 30 deal when he signed his dev deal for us, as he could be blocking Talataina playing NSW Cup in 2026 regularly. Volkman was good in Cup, but if Talataina is the future he needs reps in open age footy.
Im prob alot higher on Joash then you and was excited to see how he would develop after getting a full preseaon at 6. In a perfect world he starts 2026 as 5/8 and Pezet is purley Mitches back up.
Volkman is a great attacking player but he is poor defensivley and his body language leaves a lot to be desired in my eyes.
If they really are all in on Lorenzo (which is a dumb position in my eyes not because hes not talented but becuase jnr development isnt an excact science and isnt linear so whilst he looks good now doesnt mean he will look good in 2027) He needs to play NSW cup. This means 2 of Joash, Volkman, Hawkins, Twidle need to leave to get an opportunity. Massive distruption to accomodate a 1 year deal
Yeah Hawkins seems to have Ryles trust and respect as the back-up Halfback. I doubt they bother with Pezet if he was to be a back-up. There is no need unless he is starting. Volkman is here due to contract simple as that. That experiment i believe is over.

Cant judge Joash after a handful of games in an unfamiliar position. He needs a preseason and some experience in the position. He has the talent, the attitude and pride in the jersey.

Well i did say he was passable and we can get by with him. But also we can see he is better suited to being a Fullback. But Papali'i did better than i thought he would, particularly in defence.
And let's be fair, if it is about a player of the future, it is Talataina. If Papali'i was our future 6 we would be playing him.
But also, just cause a player has attitude and pride in the jersey doesn't mean they are the best option for the team overall. They still need to be the best in the position.
No 20 year old is that smart..... someone was/is pulling the strings....it's not hard to go past his management. Even then it is still possible the kid himself doesn't want to come to Parra.....after all the opportunity was given for a term choice and it reflects on Parra not being chosen.....how does his Parra team mates see that?
Joash is on the sideline watching the game and cheering for the team he has loved since he was 5 years old and watching Pezet take his future opportunity for 12 months and who knows what else.
Think about it Ryles'y you may have just fucked the morale of your whole development path/squad !!!!!
