Smith has been given about 55 mins in his first 2 games, that could easily be pushed out to about 60 - 65.. He starts then gets a break about 10 before half-time. I'd rather his replacement have fresh legs at that time of the game than Hopgood who's been busting his balls for 30 mins.
I would not put Papali'i at 6. He is 5"5, imagine Olakau'atu running at him? Plus has played way more Fullback than 5/8. So he would not be used to defending as much as he would need to in 5/8.
"Rd 1 2025 we got beat by 50 and I'm sure we all thought oh boy this is going to be a rough go for Ryles and co. But he kept at it and by the end of the season turned the club completely around. Think it's now being reflected in the front office "
"There you are EA, I can see your point re minor grades where you view kids showing out no guaranteed value for the future. I understand and agree with you on that but love to report on kids playing well now, even allowing for their long road ahead.…"

if we drop Paulo who do we bring? We dont have the roster to accomodate it
Anyone, he doesn't get massive metres, lead the tackle count or put on any hits. May as well play lussick prop as you get the same inept go forward
Should have kept RCG and got rid of Paulo
I would have preferred a rotation of Arthur and Smith at hooker. Either one on the bench in 14. I just got a feeling that would have worked.
I would prefer Joash on the bench.
When Smith needs a break, move Brown to hooker and Joash to 5/8.
Maybe Ryles should train up one of the forwards to give Smith a rest at dummy half, possibly Doorey?
Why waste time and resources for that though? Hopgood can do it and is in the team everyweek.

I do think 4 forwards on the bench will help
