Ryan Matterson agrees to terms!

Ryan Matterson has agreed to terms for a three year deal with the Parramatta Eels commencing in 2020, which includes an option in the third year.

The second rower is a Parramatta Eels junior, and played three years in the lower grades where he represented the Australian School Boys and Australian Junior Roos while playing in the Under 20’s National Youth Competition.

Ryan signed with the Sydney Roosters where he made his NRL debut in 2016 and later played in the winning 2018 grand final team.

In 2019 Ryan moved to the West Tigers where his football went to another level and he earned selection as the 18th man for the NSW Origin team for games 1 and 2.

Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur said he was looking forward to Ryan joining the Eels line-up, "It’s always great to see the return of a local Parramatta Eels junior. He’ll have a whole pre-season with the team and I know he’ll be an asset to our Club next year."

Ryan will commence pre-season training with his new teammates this month.

"shit hit the fan in the pre season in Melbourne this year . Old Bellyache seemingly fell out with a couple of senior players. Would not shock me to see some of these guys abandon ship knowing the era is over. When you're a player that can pick…"

"This would be an impressive signing by the Knights, but I can't see Harry leaving the Storm. Hopefully it happens and Best is pushed out, we'll be in the a good chance to land him 🤞"

Grants been linked to knights and interesting,Grants open to moving to Newcastle.Just rumors at this stage but if it gets bigger and bigger.Knights can't afford him with ponga and brown on over a mill and others taking a lot of the cap.So what does…

Well done by the club to bring him home and add another attacking option to the squad.

Matterson is the 2nd PARRA jr who had left that I am glad has returned home, 1st being Moses.

My bad, glad to have Jr back but was referring to those who left and made their NRL debut elsewhere. Should of been more clear.

Good signing IMO, he can be our cut price Wade Graham.

It was Mattersons fault he left in the first place not BAs. BA wanted him to play in the forwards but Matterson maintained he will was a 5/8. Matterson ended up moving to the forwards after he left the Eels anyway.
