I also went to the end of year awards night a couple of weeks ago and Roy Spagnolo was struggling to read his speech off a bit of paper - it was embarrassing!!

JJM - I too have made the error of calling the board and CEO circus clowns - but they are not making any of us laugh.
Well if the Board is silent they can't be spreading rumours. Everybody wants the board to shut up, and when they do, you want them to talk. I'm confused, as I'm sure they are.
The amount of times that stories have been posted on this site about information allegedly received from board members during 'general chats' is something I find really concerning.
In a contract of employment, there are confidentiality clauses which prevent people giving out information about the organisation they represent. I understand in the context of a football club that supporters want answers, but if Ozzy or Roy or any other board member is discussing contract negotiations with every Tom, Dick and Harry that asks them, then that is reprehensible!
Further - I don't understand why every player we have been 'linked' to has been in the paper. It is understandable that negotiations with players can be a public thing - but even the latest article on Ozzy's conversation with Quade Cooper and that he 'will' be an Eel in 2012 was an idiotic and unnecessary remark.
And the board seems to be talking when they should close their mouths and closing their mouths when the supporters most need a unified front.
Why was Ando given the support of the board a month ago? And now, why are the board silent on his position?
I'll give you a mojr source of the supposed leaks, players managers. They call a paper "hey listen my boy is being looked at by the Eels" Paper prints it, said boy and indeed his manger get more when their current club bumps up the price to keep them.
I have one particular reporters number, a couple of years ago as a joke after a few beers and because I know how much integrity he has, I sms him the fake rumour that the eels were about to sign Aston Sims. And what do you know, the next day and without confirming the source, there is was in the paper. Now all they have to do is troll on this and the other site, and go to print!
