Centre Sean Russell returns from concussion so Brian Kelly moves to the wing and last week's debutant Araz Nanva slides to the interchange. Charlie Guymer and Jack Williams are the new second-rowers in place of Kelma Tuilagi (head knock) and Kitione Kautoga. The loss of bench forward Sam Tuivaiti (head knock) sees Saxon Pryke join the bench for his NRL debut. Prop Toni Mataele has also been added to the bench as he chases a second NRL appearance after debuting in Round 11 last year.

  • Interested to watch Pryke, hopefully we dont get flogged and break some of these kids confidence.  I thought it was Brown who went alright in the trials over Pryke but I could be wrong.  Has Pryke overtaken him due to his improvement or Brown going backwards.  I understand Pryke is more a workhorse defensive player but surprised we haven't seen Brown after the trials even on bench.

Before last week Bulldogs were still struggling to score.  They were really up for it against Penrith and Penrith were shocking.  Hopefully they are a bit flat after that win as they put a lot into it and we have a much better attitude after being flogged.  We need a better start and have a bit of luck to boost our confidence.  Although I can't see us winning, I feel we can keep it closer then Storm, Penrith or Titan games.

  • happy for Saxon congratulations!! Hopes he kills it. We need a defensive forward at the moment.

    • I'm keen to see how Toni Mataele goes tomorrow. He's been playing stronger this year.

      • Yes and should be motivated after his start last year. Hope he goes well seems like a good fella

  • Russell out Nanva in

  • Eels HM team got knocked out today and SG ball about to be knocked out as well. They are down 24-0 at HT. Should be 30-0 if they could convert. Some of these players for as much as attacking upside they bring, cannot defend to save their lives. Our middles have actually been more dominant than there's. The 1-7 have been putrid

    • EA do you have  concerns that the clubs long term plan to win a premiership is centred on these kids coming throu and being quality players. Or are we actually sitting very well with individuals.

      • Nah there is plenty of talent coming through the grades. Just need to ensure we develop them properly.

    • I watched panthers HM today as my nephew plays for them, they were knocked out by the roosters. They were on the back foot from the kick off giving away a penalty for being in front of the kicker, made too many errors and pretty much played down their end the whole game. The roosters side is big but the panthers pretty much gave themselves little chance. Two players to watch from the panthers, Charlie Xerub a lock and Cordell Arama front rower, both good rugby players as well but chose league.  Cordell is a try scoring machine as a front rower, big and strong but moves like a back rower.

      • HFK?

"Lorima had a good moment but like usual they fail to give him good ball. Bell was the best player for us all year. Capovilla improved as the season went on. Finished the year very strongly. "

Yeah Man posted a discussion
That's 13 players out against team which steamrolled the Panthers. I am not going to watch.
