Roosters salary cap

there was an article about how they stole Suali from Souths the other day despite paying him less than what Souths offered him of course.

in it they said he was signed for four years at 1.92 million. The first year he was on 120 k this year he is one 350k. That means next year he must be on around 750 k. How do they afford them all? I look through their roster and struggle to find a player on less than 700 k and they are adding Smith as well. Surely Walker must be due an upgrade too. Just mind boggling.

  • They will win the comp this year they have way too many stars

  • On paper the best side in the comp

  • Thank NRL for them signing Lodge as well. Yes I've been harping on about this for about six weeks. They will go close to winning the GF because of this decision.

          • You can't question the Roosters, Fong flies I'm like superman & defends them. Why would you love another club & be here, his life must be so lonely & sad.

        • Because you're admiring what he did? Those TPA's (if they existed) weren't free. The club paid a heavy price for such "generosity".

    • Which by the letter of the rules is all salary cap cheating. Doing it is one thing , proving it s happening a totally different beast. It all comes down to " did the businessman help out with the intention of ensuring that player plays for a certain club" if the answer is yes its salary cap cheating. If the answer is no " the player can play anywhere he wants but the businessman will still pay him" then its not cheating.

Just because the Rorters hhhhmmmmm Roosters  can use Busienssmen that are happy to pay Roosters Players to play anywhere with any club - nudge nudge wink wink, its deemed legal..... Untill someone dobs themselves  in.

  • They have lost a number of players the last couple of years. Cordner, Friend, the Morris twins, they are losing Taukeihao, Verrills. Crichton is resigning for substantially less than when he left the Bunnies. JWH & Keary will be in less in the coming seasons.
They get tremendous value out lower paid players like Watson, Momrirovski, Butcher etc

    • The math still doesn't add up though. Honestly Fongy and yourself must be really cross eyed not to see this.
