BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
The Wenty Magpies are pleased to welcome Rip Taylor back to the club as our ISP Head Coach for season 2019.
Rip was our NSW Cup Head Coach in 2008 - the inaugural year of our JV with Parramatta - with the Magpies taking out the premiership in a thrilling extra-time victory over the Newtown Jets in the Grand Final (see photo).
Rip brings a wealth of experience to the role, having coached at NSW Cup level at Parramatta, Wenty, Newcastle and Wyong, as well as the NSW Residents rep side.
We look forward to a successful year ahead, with Rip back where it all began...

All I can say is....about fcuking time!!!
His an upgrade of about 1000% than what we had.
I thought Mick Potter got this position?
Do you know what position in the club he will hold?
Good to hear Rip Van Winkles back.
What happens with Wenty players now Parra are to have their own reggies team? Sounds like Wenty are getting their act together.
That doesnt happen till 2020 Vic, thats when our wenty contract runs out and we will have the structures in place to be able to support the new team.
Not sure whats happening with wenty after that.
This is a good step, I believe Potter who had been previously announced as Wenty coach has stepped up to assist the NRL side.
Next year at the very least Rip will continue coaching, and most likely the eels ISP team, this does show some decent movement with the eels into the future.
Wenty should still ok they will just have to look for a new coach.
