Waqa should not be re-signed.
Sam Loizou should not be in the NRL squad
That frees up 2 spot for next year
Cartwright (28 years old) and Emu should be re-signed ASAP
Ethan Sanders could be added - he and Asi should be our halves in reserves next year and back up for first grade
Asi (MO) should be re-signed but not at any cost
Simonsson should be re-signed (PO next year)
Ogden (CO) should be re-signed
Jirah and Rodwell and Murchie all all signed to end 2024 but none are likely to see first grade and could let go early
Josh Hodgson has a MO - if he is not on too much I reckon he is worth keeping - mentor and he may get some of his form back next year since he is coming back after injury.
We are a bit light on Hooker position so Meni Luke or Yates could be added for the last spot

I imagine we'll be holding onto Rodwell. He's missed 3 years of development through a broken leg and two COVID seasons. He's the type of guy you get some more games into and he becomes a good depth option with 20-30 first grade games until a guy like Tuivaiti is ready for the NRL.
I think Rodwell will go for more of an opportunity elsewhere. He is too far down the pecking order with us. Would like to keep him but think he will want to go elsewhere.
Greig will be at the dogs next year.
He'd have rocks in his head. He's 23 and the sky's the limit in our system, you only have to look at Mahoney and ICE to see how exposed you are when you go to a struggling club. Emu has a lot more development to go if he wishes to reach his full potential. Leaving for an extra 1 or 2 hundred K now could cost you millions in the long run which I can't see it happening unless we are so salary cap broke we can't afford to make him an offer.
