  • 625k for this year and next, which is definitely overs

Not sure which club would take him on

    • Honestly i would, if he is being shopped Canterbury need to pitch in.

    • I don't understand how $650k is overs for a quality player who touches the ball 5 times every set. It seems to me Hooker is an underpaid position.

Wonder what Moses would think of his return...I it is good with him it's good with me

  • Micheal Caryiannis SEN last week did hint that a player will return back to his former club. Hmmmmm

  • Bit of a fall from grace but not sure where Canterbury are going with this. Not a lot of Hookers on the market, Mahoney still a good age and playing some good footy. He went from the marquee signing, named captain and the future. Club had a bad 2023 but Mahoney was still good. Crichton comes in, he is the new golden boy and Mahoney is shafted as a leader.

Would i take Mahoney back? Absolutely. He was my favourite Eels player, it hurt when he signed for Dogs, never had that before. Didn't have it for RCG or Gutho or Papali'i or Niukore or anyone else. Mahoney hurt. But if he is open to coming back, i would happily bring him back. He is a good player, top 3 Hooker on his day. Has played so much footy with Moses and Brown so the transition is just with Ryles style, that is it.

Canterbury want him moved on, 2 years left on his contract at around $600-650k a year, they will pitch in as nobody would take him. Now, for Canterbury, it is a bad move. I have no clue as to why they would entertain this unless he is a pest and/or bad to work with.

    • Massive fall from grace, from being team captain to not being wanted, maybe the problem is Reed? On another note Dogs pay overs to get him away from Parra and now want him out this shit stinks.

      • Why is $650 overs for a top4 hooker? I don't understand it.

        • Because he's nowhere near a top 4 hooker.
