Reality check please!!!

Im not to sure about what we say or write as fans sometimes?

We have weeks we bag the team, and weeks we love the team. I guess it must be the side-effects from a team we support that is hot n cold.

I have reported and continued my view consistantly all year that we are not the team that deserves the credit we get sometimes and the critisism as well.

The fact is we have underlying problems with the attitude and culture of the club that has plagued our team since the golden ages. In my view we do not ever look like the force team or the genuine title contendors, and do not show a winning culture like some other clubs do.

Let's be real people, dont blame the coach or the player's. We have an abundant amount of talent on & off the field, and we love and support no matter what. But if we make the finals or win the comp, in my eyes its a bonus sorry to say. Because with the current culture I dont see how it can be done in this tough & competetive NRL competition.

Confididence, a winning attitude, and a hard working ethic are the key areas required to turn things around.

Cummon Parra toughen UP!!!

  • Righto Buzz, you seem to have identified problems with our attitude and culture. Care to tell us what those problems are?
  • we have got the players to and talent to give this competition a big shake we just have to play week in week out instead of only turning up sometimes........... and when we are winning the culture and attitude all falls into place.. i think it would be the same at any club...... it would be hard clubs not in winning form to have all the other qualities fall into place!!
    • hear hear
    • it just seems to me, just like how it seems to other sports commentators and the general NRL supportors that we alwys have the talent but for some reason we have excuses to lose.

I understand 100% winning can seem to fix all these problems. But my point is not about the no. of games we win or like i said we might even still do something freakish and win the comp. Its more about with the talent and wraps we get, why dont we have an aura or feel of a fearful team? and i beleive that comes with way the culture and work ethics whithin the whole club.
    • understand what u sayn.

i meant to say let's not point fingers at DA or a single player every week. Maybe we should just look at the whole team and club's attitude and fix any mental weakness's we have.
  • Whilst the competition is very even this year which has been good in some ways lets be honest, the competition is not that tough at all.

The thing that disappoints me the most is when you look up the ladder and see whos in the 8 i just don't get how people can say its so hard to win the premiership blah blah blah.

Dragons - Are chokers and look at the way they are playing
Roosters - Are on fire at the moment and if the GF was played this week they would probably win it
Penrith - They have had a good season but are not a scary team
Tigers - Luckiest team in the comp with all of their come back wins and unimpressive wins. Exciting when hot but
Titans - Don't know how they are up there, don't impress me
Manly - Good team, experienced and can definitely challenge for the premiership but don't seem to have the knock out punch
Broncos - I can't stand them and they are so boring to watch, only get wins because of Lockyer
Warriors - Were hot now gone a bit cold and if they were to make the finals don't have the experience
Souths - Could have been good if healthy but with a tough run home will be hard pressed to be there

    Then............

Parramatta - One minute world beaters then next who knows.

Seriously everyone, Melbourne was the team to beat simple as that. Now they are gone what is the excuse?

We made the GF last year, recruited better for this year and sit 10th? I don't get it ay.

WE should be the team to beat but we are not at the moment. Can we turn it around? Maybe..............can we beat any of the top 8 on our day 100% we can but we have lacked the attitude and consistency and sometimes the game plan.

WE have a lot of work to do in the next 5 weeks. We need to win 4 from 5 = 30 points. 28 will make 7th or 8th at least but will be hard pressed on our for and against if Souths or Broncos end up the same.

Our beloved Eels just don't want to make it easy on themselves or their fans do they. I couldn't care less if we come in 7th or 8th or 3rd for that matter if we went all the way.

After last year this should have been our year no excuses but you have to earn it and work hard for it. Sometimes we have but not enough and now we need to turn up every week from here on in.

Can be done, hard to believe after Saturday night but until its over we will ALL be back on the bandwagon come 7:30pm Friday night against the Titans.

Realistically we could win all of our last 5 if we play our best footy but with our team who knows what team will turn up.

At least one thing is for sure......................WE HAVE TO TURN UP THE LAST 5 WEEKS WITHOUT THE, " OH WELL THERES ALWAYS NEXT WEEK ATTITUDE".

I am EXPECTING minimum 4 from 5 now but all 5 why not.
    • hear hear!!!!
  • i knew those losses we had to the fukn sharks will come back n fuk us in the ass, not once they beat us fukn TWICE!!!!

and that shit newcastle game fukd us
