With all the constant and relentless news, rumours, innuendo and opinions about players and the club, I have self diagnosed as being bipolar. My brain chemistry seesaws with every blog I read.
As I logged onto the site today, I wondered which way my chemicals would sway? I had read some positive, uplifting blogs from the likes of Sixtiesboy and Miatch, only to see them slide down the pecking order, as the negative blogs again jumped them in the queue and zapped my serotonin.
Then it happened, the slap in the face, the reality check we all need at times. Phil had put up a post about young Kurt Drysdale http://www.1eyedeel.com/forum/topics/fund-raiser-for-kurt-drysdale
A young man who is a world away from worrying about any boardroom drama's or if Foran will or won't come, here we have a young kid who will most likely never play the game, walk again. I am sure being a Wentworthville junior he had aspirations to one day play for the Parramatta Eels, as we all did.
After I read that blog, my brain chemistry balanced out quick smart.
Supporting, being loyal and bleeding your clubs colours of any sporting team takes it toll, but there is always something to be positive or hopeful about, like an upset at tomorrow nights game. Who knows...next week the club might have some great news to announce.
I am an eels diehard and I hope the club can survive the current drama, I hope Kieran Foran still comes, but my world doesn't end if both don't eventuate. I have a clean bill of health and not too much to worry or complain about in the big picture.
I will be at the game tomorrow night, something I take for granted, no doubt, that's all young Kurt would like to be doing with his mates too, no matter who is on the board or out on the field.
Have a good weekend.
