The way Ryles uses his bench with Moretti starting, Williams on an edge and Tuilagi to bench it doesn't suit someone like Samrani who is either edge or back. We need another middle. Latu I feel you could get away with playing some middle. He's a big boy, bigger than he looks in photos.
This may be controversial but I actually like Doorey as the 10-20min impact forward with the way we play. Spread the ball with Walker linking in the middle. Either plays short or go out the back. Doorey runs great lines. He pokes his head through and often gets a quick play the ball.
The issue this week was he was our main forward on the bench lol that came on first and played big minutes. Thats the last way I would use Doorey. He isnt fit or big enough for that role. Obviously the injury list was the reason for it.
Doorey actually has a very underrated ball playing game as well which has on same occasions been like D Walker in NSW Cup. Just not seen it in the NRL because its not his role.
I prefer Moretti of the bench. Moretti is at his best running of Walker. But the issue with him starting is that Walker comes on when Moretti comes off so they barely play minutes with both on the park at the same time. Hence why I would start Matto.

I think this side would make the 8. Those two with * need to find form desperately though. Unfortunately their attention to detail is poop.
Pretty much our best team couple of players around the same standard. How's Richard penisini going in Reggies?

The problem this week we were light on forwards than doorey got a head knock, tuilagi got a poke in the eye and Williams head assessment. So a lot of bad luck on top of a light bench.

Hopegood doesn't have the leg speed to play lock to slow. Brown to centre why not he's leaving anyway and atleast he will be good defending and give quality ball to the fox. Hopegood like lane would make a good prop.
I've been championing Hopgood to Prop for a while, since last season.
We need Matterson. Matterson can spread the ball around and he can have a Walker like influence for 20-25 mins before Walker comes in.
Kautoga, Williams, Matterson, Paulo, Hopgood, Moretti, Tuivati and Tuilagi as the 8 forwads in the 17 is quite versatile and good. Doorey would be my next backup
Samrani, Latu, Mataele, Guymer maybe Pryke I think can be developed easily to replace a couple of those in the next 2 years, before the current Jersey Flegg/SG Ball crop are ready.
