UPDATE: Jack Williams starts at prop. Dylan Walkers starts at lock. Hopgood goes to the bench. Jason Ryles confirmed Jack De Belin, who has been cut this week against his former club, needed to work on some areas of his game in attack and defence but would be a very important part of the team moving forward. Blake Lawrie comes in at starting lock for the Dragons with rookie Hamish Stewart to the bench.
The Eels return home after the brave Broncos upset but face a Dragons side desperate to avoid 0–3.
The Dragons will test the Eels, breathing fire, after two heartbreaking losses in which they played with toughness and physicality. The Eels defence, currently the worst in the competition, will come under fire and need every bit of resilience they showed against the Broncos.

Last week
Both teams were gutsy, despite the opposite results.
The Eels defeated the Broncos, coming back twice — from 20–6 down and then from 32–28 — to win 40–32 in a see-sawing festival with bravery that had to be seen to be believed.
The Dragons were in the match up to their eyeballs, leading 20–18 with less than 20 minutes to go, before losing Gutherson for 15 minutes to a HIA and making five errors to collapse in a heap, to be demolished 46–20 with the electifying Storm fullback Faalogo scoring a late hat-trick to back up from his two-late tries against the Eels.
Key matchups
■ Clint Gutherson vs Isaiah Iongi: the veteran guru versus the rising star
■ Pezet/Moses vs Kyle Flanagan/ Daniel Atkinson (if they play): new combinations showing green shoots
■ Ryley Smith/Taylln da Silva vs Damien Cook/Jacob Liddle: this battle could be decisive
■ Benches and packs: expect fireworks
Bottom Line
Despite the Eels' recent dominance against the Dragons at CommBank, the Dragons won the last meeting at WIN Stadium.
Most games between these teams lately have been fairly high-scording but close affairs decided by single-digit scores.
The Bookies and history says the Eels, especially at home and on Sundays. But recent results suggest the matchup could go either way, depending on who wants it more.
The Eels’ new left edge with Pezet could again come under fire and be a weak link to be addressed. The Dragons imploded under the pressure applied by the Storm, and ironically their left edge leaked the most tries of any team last year.
This should be a tough game and a good test for the Eels' character, especially as they are expected to win. If it turns into another one-point heart attack at CommBank, Parramatta’s best cardiologists may need to open a 24-hour branch inside the stadium.

I want to give Jonah a few more weeks.I really think we can help him if we get more inside help so he can get off the line quicker that's what I'll be watching the guy who plays inside Jonah and when teams setup that right side attack if we are getting good push from the inside. The worst thing Jonah can do right now is be passive he needs to continue to move foward numbers regardless if he gets caught passive he's fried chicken it's a wrap back rowers will run over him.
Don't worry about run over him. Just run straight past him. Massive pussy. Scared to even attempt some tackles. Not even laying a finger on ball runner at times.
Great summary, Coryn.
Dylan Brown is very badly missed defensively, we have a clear weakness in our line being exploited - but also in attack in creating any space for our outside backs - Pezet is trying but lacks the speed & footwork to keep defences on him. When he runs, he is easily covered. He had quite a few chances to create overlaps today but lacked the ability to execute.
Jonah is young, and to his credit has some nice skills - will likely get there? It's not personal, but honesty feel we'd be better off with Joash there & Pezet as a backup 7.
Joash is defensively much better as EA said, and has some x-factor / pace to create in attack.
Better teams will execute a lot of points through our left side (as Melbourne did).
Pezet was 3rd string half at Melbourne with less than a handful of NRL games. His rails-run to own the 6 jersey and the hype from the media, you'd think we signed Munster. He's very ordinary. Let him play reserve grade until he's needed. Give Joash the 6.
Just leave him in the 19 and if anything happens to Moses, he can play 7. Otherwise is a complete waste of time.....Joash will be a much better link than Pezet and his defence will at least keep up with the pace of the attack....Pezet cannot keep up defensively and his ball play just is not good enough to compensate.
Agree Mutt & Pops.
JR did say Jonah would have to fight for the 6, and he's show with JDB he's not afraid to drop players.
Papalii didn't play well today in cup. But to be fair he was listed at 7 with Lorenzo at 6. He will obviously have a proper halfback in Moses this time around
How come papalii can play cup then be on the dg bench, is that some new rule?
With the new 6 man bench rule, i don't think there are rules stipulating players cannot back-up from NSW Cup. Which baffles me that the RLPA were ok with that. But ideally, halves and backs are more likely to back-up. Joash at 7 would get through work and take hits but not compared to JDB who would not be ideal having him play 60mins in Cup then might have to back up with 25-30 in NRL if there is an injury.
Apparently he can play 30 minutes in the lead up game....fair enough.
