Pull Together

Come this season the Parramatta Eels will be running out for the 25th season since our last premiership. In that time we have seen 3 new CEOs, 8 new coaches, 2 Grand Finals, 2 Minor Premierships and 180 new players. As usual, before the start of every Parramatta season there is a media circus around the team, particularly with the arrival of boom halfback Chris Sandow. This usually raises the expectations of the supporters and, in recent years has led to disappointment at the end of the season.

Hopefully by mid-season the Eels will be sitting comfortably in the Top 8. However, going from recent years they will still be fighting to stay in there by that time and the media will begin exaggerating the fact that the highly hyped Eels are bombing out. In these times often the real supporters are separated from the band-wagon supporters. But, as a result of this, negativity begins to envelop supporters. What I am asking for is that this separation and negativity doesn't happen. As a strong Parramatta and Liverpool FC supporter atmosphere and support for my team is important. Simply what I am asking for from the supporters is that we continue supporting the team in good and bad times this season. Whether they live up to our expectations or not. As and LFC supporter I've witnessed first hand what happens when the team performs poorly. When LFC was beaten 5-2 in a match, The KOP was singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" and many of LFC's players have mentioned how important that support was and still is. I'd like to see this year, if we begin playing poorly, that the supporters pull together and support the team. In the words of LFC Manager and Former Players Kenny Dalglish "If you can't support us when we play bad, you don't deserve us when we play at our best."

  • How many times has LFC won the title in the last 27 seasons?

or how long have LFC supporters waited since their last league title or Cup in other competitions?

    • 2006 was our last trophy but we have had a lean trot and a number of bad performances. We haven't been in Europe for a number of years and regularly miss the Top 4. In terms of Premier League success we haven't won since 1990.

  • Suarez is a joke.. in saying that, I wouldn't mind if he came over to Real Madrid or Chelsea ;)

    • Evra is a joke. He's a lying bastard that was embarrassed time and time again by Suarez and resorted to trumped up charges to rub him out. Before you say he was found guilty. In the FA's report there are a number of articles which state that "Mr. Evra changed his account of events and removed the charge stating that Mr. Suarez had called him a "negro" 10 times." It goes on to say "The way in which Mr. Suarez used the phrase "por que negro?" was meant in a concilliating manner and no malice was intended". The FA is the most corrupt governing sports body in the world.

I think this should be a 1 Eyed extreme blog doe

  • Everything will be sweet this year. Parra's fortunes always mirror my mob Tottenham, who are on their way to winning the English Premier League so there's no need for concern.

    • nothing like some good ol' superstition hey :P

    • My tip is either Man City or Man Utd (Not much choice for LFC fans).

    • Well that's a relief...
  • Yeah, just read that. Should've thought twice about the title.

"I have no doubt Ryles would be interested.
One thing about Fifita that often gets lost in the narrative is he's a quality defender.
Hes big and agile , exactly the type of player Ryles would be after.
This is another  player you could possibly do a…"
