One of the best up-and-coming prospects at the Parramatta Eels has earned the opportunity to train with the NRL squad during the 2025 pre-season, which could lead to an NRL contract.

Likened to Mitchell Moses while playing in the halves before transitioning to the fullback role, Zero Tackle can reveal that Te Hurinui Twidle will train with the first-grade squad in the upcoming pre-season.

Zero Tackle understands that his contract with the club also includes a club option for a development contract for the following season in 2026.

Recently playing in the Eels' Jersey Flegg Cupteam this year, Twidle is one of the best young players in the club's pathways system and helped lead the Eels to the SG Ball Cup title in 2023.

Recruited from New Zealand, he will be eager to impress during the pre-season and contend with Isaiah Iongi for the No.1 jersey in the future as Clinton Gutherson looks set to move to a utility role.

  • Twidle could be a nice 14 option for future. Bigger body who can play all positions in backline. He could be that 13 link man too.

    • Reminds me of a young Ryan Matterson

  • But don't forget we hate our recruitment guys.

    • Thanks for the heads-up BBFA I always get a lift when there's a mention of a quality young guy getting noticed at the Eels. Plenty here, have spoken of this guy during the last 2 seasons, so here's hoping he can one day soon break thru like Talagai, and Guymer.

  • Poor kid - he's going to cop plenty on this site due to his surname

    • Could be worse. At least it's not 'Arthur'

      • Thank fark Arthur wasn't here to christen the new centre of excellence.  The place would have been cursed

        • Sorry chief but I'm hearing there will be a statue of BA at the front of the centre of excellence

            • Lol chief extreme but totally understandable!ha

              • Lol.  Haha.  I'm betting Sixties from TCT will make himself a full time security guard for the statue. and he'll hire boods and Jake to take turns in getting him coffees for his 24 hr shifts.

The statue may yet survive micky 😅😆😁

"I would go Haas too. Different styles of Prop really. Both impactful but Haas is in his own way. Tino ain't going to make 25-30 metre linebreaks. "

"For us, we could actually afford Tino and still get a decent 6. Even if you go say Pezet, you can afford Tino. Though feel he would be going to Perth to be fair. Or Dogs."

"If it was a case of Jnr leaving and Tino taking over it would make sense. Tino would be awesome for on and off field. But I agree you can't have so much money in the front row. "

"Carrigan, though not as good as Tino is the next tier down and not far off. He would be cheaper as well."
