        • Lol, why not ? And one forward pass per set please

        • And 4 20 min quarters

          • Its getting there lol

      • Good points LB & Cap. Not a fan of some of these 'potential' changes either. Don't mind a six-player bench. I suppose let's wait and see what eventuates.

        • 6 player bench is an idea I can understand, I think it needs to be tweaked. Like have an extra replacement like 18th man so you can cover all areas but make it slightly easier to activate or have 5 man bench and have 19th man as replacement.

    • Nearly every sport hands possession over after a team scores or has a genuine contest for the ball.  Other than NRL and Rugby can someone name a sport where the ball is given back to the team who score.  Rugby is a bit different to NRL though due to the style of play and where field position is more valued than possession.

I like the idea of the team who conceeded a try getting the ball back giving them an opportunity with the ball. Although people say it will be harder to come back from 2 or 3 tries down, it will mean once a team takes the lead late in the game the other team will get an opportunity to replyband we could see the lead change a number of times in final 10minutes in close games with attacking footy.

The only problem with this new rule is if a team conceeds a try and gets the other team to kick off, they can go for a short kick off, and get the ball back 50% of the time in good field position.

I don't think this will be an issue for long though as I think eventually the rule will change to a tap restart to avoid collisions.

      • Good points, I would rather just make it scoring team kicks as opposed to letting them choose.

But I don't think anyone here is complaining about kick-offs. Not necessary. NRL saying kick-offs are the issue with momentum but not 6 agains?

  • Finally the six man bench

    • I reckon clubs should have the option to play anyone in the top 30 man squad, so if any key player goes down you can have a like for like replacement - still with a maximum 8 interchanges.

The way it's structured now it disadvantages teams who are unfortunate enough to lose a key player early on and need to reshuffle the entire team as a result

I know life's not fair but we should try our best to make sport fair.

It’s from “The Mole” on Nine, before the usual rounds. What’s interesting is he quotes Molo’s manager but still frames it as “expected”, which sounds more like inference than confirmation.

"I heard people say "18th and 19th men will back-up from Cup most weeks" well that is not ideal and surely a player safety issue. As the same players will be named, if they can, each week at 18 and 19."
