POPPA's CORNER : SACKING THE CAPTAIN......

There is a blog going on about sacking the Captain and a general opinion that Moses is a bad one....a bit of a wanker as well.

Just to put a different perspective on it.....sack Moses as captain....who replaces him?

Now Moses is a human being, he is playing injured, that should be a greater concern given his history.

Now his being human has other consequences, how would he react if the captaincy was taken off him? i.e. would he want to stay at Parra.....my guess is no, part the ways.....don't worry about his contract, if he wants to go they will have no choice but to let him.

There will be a few clubs out there happy to pay him.....rightly or wrongly. Imagine how good he could be in the right team? Money would not be a problem, Perth or PNG would  be I assume, I'm pretty certain he doesn't want to have weekly hidings. Manly could be an interesting choice, or how about Brisbane....now we are talking !!!..... Laughably we could get to keep Pezet....that would cause me to "sack the coach" LOL

Frankly Moses is not a great player, he is a very good one. Given his injury record are we actually keen to keep him? personallly I have always been a Moses supporter, right from the beginning, but are the consequences such that this is a path we now need to head down......everyone (seemingly) rate's our window and Moses together. I'm not sure how that sits now?

I would love to see the commentary on here if we lost him, we will be lining up to sack the incumbents, long odds on there will be a blog to sack MON, then the coaching staff, the CEO and the Chairman.....throw in the ticket collector and the bus driver......ah! nothing like a good hanging.....usually carried out by a lynch mob!

Finally, this is written as a discussion and should not be a CALL to sack the captain, just talk about the options.

        • Other than Nos' great list the last game would've definitely taken it out of him as captain not being able to challenge twice, the touching ref saga letter and losing getting ripped off in another blatant mistake by ref ...the guy is human!

like Hayne another great player in Moses stuffs up their premiership chances for love of BnG but a lot of money haha :(

          • Mace, the things you mention are signposting that he is not cut- out to captain

            • Maybe you are right :(

but we've got a shit load of very understandable human reasons at the moment and I think Moses losing captaincy ain't right for now either.

maybe not you but others comparing him to cam smith's captinancy is extremely unrealistic also. When was the last time Melb had the same rub of green thst our team and club cops from the refs or nrl... seriously last week we were robbed and maybe the guy was complete nervous wreck :) understandably. When was the last time ANYONE ever saw Melb dished up thst junk?

anyway, we are lucky to have a team plus six on bench for next week huge issues!

      • Great comments, um facts  NOS  🙌

Dylan was always groomed to compliment Mitchell and they were a perfect pairing. Must've been horrible for Mitch to see him go and have a one yr deal set in place. So many here couldn't wait to see the srse end of Dylan ...perhaps a few didn't and most definitely not me.

Past history but Im sure a hundred k would have stopped him scouting elsewhere. Yes our Recruitment strategy leaves too much to be desired ...but this one is most definitely on Ryles not wanting to keep Dylan and look elsewhere.
Love Ryles and he has had a shit run but he clearly  wanted to start with his own roster...only trouble is WE ain't Melb or roosters and players are not easily aitanable as we all know and he has found out :(

        • Well put Macey and a superb post NOS, the set out and set up was an extraudinary report on the situation and the mitigation.

When i wrote this I had no intention of it being a call for the captains head, as much as I was looking for all the positives that you illustrated as I have no doubts the knives would be out. Yes those knives coming out is what motivated me on both of my unpopular blogs since yesterday.

Poor old Randy, he started the conversation by having no appreciation of the emotional hurt and drama that Mitch would experience in being sacked.....not to mention the "smirkness" that would emanate out of the NRL.

One of the things that makes me a contrarian is the way people are swayed by perception, rather than facts and understanding.

Some people on here couldn't lead a rat down a drainpipe. Leadership is nothing to do with being liked, its about getting respect and giving it. Sometimes you have to be a bastard to make the undertaking being understood.

There is no way that Moses leadership has caused any of the poor performances witnessed by everyone here.

Now when I say that, I say it from a public perspective, not with any inside knowledge.

I will leave it now for other's to reinforce those views and explain why people don't like Moses, he is after all and arrogant little prick! LOL

  •  Im sure talking about these types of blogs will help our putrid recruitment.   Next

    • God love him, you have to love an idiot!

  • I don't want to blame Moses, he's around all these poor performing players. He's performed for us at elite level for 7 years 2019-2025. If i was recruitment id build his team around the way Moses wants to play, go get a Burton, go get a. Xerri or Tago, Go get Jesse Arthurs or Young gun winger, go get him a top forward and lock. He needs the weapons and mental fortitude players around him to break a drought. With that add prime or leading to their prime players to our pack to lead the younger guys. It's time to move a couple of players on who aren't showing their potential l. Kelma has to be replaced by Sua, Unfortunately you'd have to make the call on will and replace him with a younger young gun like Apa or you get Xerri/Tago, with Lorenzo coming in you need Williams to play on his edge with Tago/Xerri to play that side with him. With Prop need to start Sam Tuivati with a better experienced prop in the game some are coming off contract don't know if parra are willing to help the kid out. We need to try and give guymer a go at lock or buy or identify young talent at that position. The bench needs to be moretti, Paulo, Walker, Teacum Brown.

    1.Iongi

    2.Addo-Carr

    3.Tago

    4.Xerri/Timoko/Pensini/Twiddle

    5.Simmo/Twiddle/Jesse Arthurs/anyone

    6.Lorenzo/Burton

    7.Moses

    8.Tuivati

    9.TDS

    10.Hopgood

    11.Williams

    12.Sua

    13.Ryley Smith/Guymer/Doorey

    Bench

    14.Guymer/Smith

    15.Walker

    16.Paulo

    17.Brown

    18.Doorey/Moretti

    19.Joash

Id go for this but also replace some forwards and get better ones to upgrade in future. Like get rid of a hopgood and get a Spencer or Leota.

    • Twiddle is gone mate

      • No way, this recruitment team is cooked.
