"Hey mate I don't think I've gathered your opinion on Lincoln? Sometimes I think we overlook that we have the schoolboys 7 here. In your opinion was he deserving of that appointment? Or was it more there wasn't much competition for the jersey?

And the refs made some outstanding blunders for souths to get back into the match.
It was pretty obvious even for you slip
Look at the Storm nights game
Storm lead 18:0
Knights start coming back but the refs wrongly disallow a Knights a try and momentum shifts back to Storm and they run away with a big win
With Parra it is the opposite.
The refs a are huge part of the game. The are not external to it. Dealing with the refs is just as important as planning how to deal with the opposition.
One is to look professional and like winners. If we can convince the refs that we are champions the 50:50 calls will go our way. If we look like amateurs they will go against us.
When your forwards are playing many more minutes than they shouldv'e and half the teams injured, you have an excuse
I think the eels have gone a long way into fixing their weak mentality issues but they haven't quite eradicated it totally. Its this lingering mental weakness that causes us not to be able to finish teams off imo. When we get to a handy lead, towards the back end of games, we seem to concentrate on holding onto to that lead rather than increasing it. I hope they can fix this problem as our for and against is still in the negative after 13 rounds and may cost us a spot in the 8 by years end.
2) Injuries or players out of position.
Even the wins against the Tigers and Panthers had similar issues.
The loss against the Titans Parra were up 12-0 after 12 mins then switched off and the Titans got it back to level at half time then went on with the job in the 2nd half.
Too many times the team has clocked off when getting a double digit lead and either have gotten away with a close win or ended up losing the game.
Not sure why it's been happening but this year my most nervous moments have been when Parra have been up by 10-18 points because it seems like any moment a poor kick, dropped ball or bad ref call away from letting the opposition back into the game.
I started a similar blog after the Warriors win last Friday. I questioned our game management - when we had our foot on the opposition's throat - we seem to let them back into the game. The opinions were mixed.
I have no idea what the actual statistic is - but I would love to know what percentage of our wins in the past 3 seasons have been by 13+ and how many have been 1-12. I'd also like to see this stat compared to the other teams in the comp.
