With both key players off contract at the same time the club and us fans could have a longer wait regarding their futures than we would like. Both players manages would be advising their clients to hold off if there preference is to remain at the Eels. Obviously if either player signs with another club the Eels will have little option other than to increase their offer to the player still available. It could result in a 20% or more salary increase. Arguably, both players have their best years in front of them and losing either 1 would be bad..... Losing both would be devastating.

Other clubs are throwing dummy bids & interest so the Eels will end up paying overs. Then they hand pick the ones the Eels can't keep under their salary cap. It's all fun and games and this club is a laughing stock. You will never see the Roosters or Storm paying overs. In fact players take unders to play in their system with pride. The Parra club lacks the personnel to instill pride in the place. Pride translates to loyalty, which means players will do anything to stay with the club.
A smart club pay overs for the head coach and coaching staff because it's not part of the salary cap, knowing too well they will then pay unders for players wanting to come play for the club.
So true! I'm born and bred in Bondi and I know people on the Roosters board and as much as I hate the Roosters it's what they can do for players when they are done. Look at SBW he can hardly string two sentences together yet guys like him and Fitler the space cadet are still at 9. Also what uncle Nick says goes, everyone on the board goes along with uncle Nick, with the Eels board everyone has there own agenda, that's why the Eels board elections get so much media coverage every year cause it's a total shit fight.
That statement shows a fundamental lack of understanding of how our board is elected now. Do you want our club to become a dictatorship ?
