          We can't 'get rid' of Matterson if no club wants him. You simply can't just cut a player and have that wiped from the salary cap.

  This sounds like the worst deal ever! The only way this makes sense is if Ryles thinks we have a genuine chance at winning the premiership next year with Pez dispenser in the team. If this is the case, then alright, I'll back Ryles all the way. If not, there is no way it makes sense no matter how you look at it!

  Ive had my say but we need to give Ryles the benefit of the doubt.  Brisbane are obviously after an organiser and that position commands upwards of 850k.  .   It could be that we weren't prepared to pay upwards of 850 for Pezet who's position is obviously 7 and the club didn't want to pay 850 to 900k.  That's totally understandable. 

   

  Now for the one year deal- it gives us time to see if Lorenzo or Joash can really step up to the plate,  and also gives Ryles time to enter negotiations with other likely candidates. 

  The bottom line is - do we want to pay Pezet 900k to be our 6, and i think the answer is no.  6 is a totally different position, a running position,  a more instinctive player who isn’t the main organisational player. 

  If we're in the finals next year, particularly at the pointy end of the ladder, im sure nob6on here will be complaining too much about the Pezet gap year deal.  Stop complaining and look at what's real here. Ryles knows what he's doing.

    I really don't see how it helps Brisbane that much anyway. Coby black was going to be as good or better then Pezet. Goodluck to them but 😂 use pezet for a year and we will figure out the future from there

    There is as much chance of Pezet coming on a 1 year loan as Wiz going to a birthday party for Dyllan Brown and Chiefy being invited to a Sunday Roast at the Arthur family reunion!

    98% of the comments are on disagreeing from the smartest to the dumbest and what an insight......Paraborn101 releasing his spite and poison on everything about the club, regardless of its relevance to the discussion. Eli who has as much original thought as Kevin Rudd at a Trump speech nite and surprisingly BM saying what an asute move by quoting Ryles has signed off on it and Lomax might not be leaving.

    Ryles has not signed off anything and Lomax is not leaving..........This is really one of the greatest piece's of a bullshit blog this site has ever witnessed.......there are some old dudes in heaven rolling around laughing their wings off up there!!!

    All the arguments of wanting an experienced 5/8 are cancelled by having Dyllan Walker there as a back up and potentially saving the situation of having 2 number 14's in Walker and TDS.

    Well how does it give us time to see if Joash can step up? He is more likely playing Fullback in Cup. The best thing with him is to play FG is it not? Lorenzo in Cup would be great for a year and slowly ease him in. 

    Ryles knows what is going on, hindsight is great but also at the same time not every great coach gets every decision right. I would rather just have Papali'i for a year then when Lorenzo is ready bring him in or let Joash try and keep that spot. 
    
    I just wonder if there is something to it with Brisbane giving us something in return.
