Peni Verdict

Parramatta Eels Club has fined Peni Terepo $25,000 and suspended him for two matches (already served) of the 2019 NRL Telstra Premiership for an alcohol related incident that happened earlier this month. The Club reached its decision following discussions with the NRL Integrity Unit and the RLPA.

In addition, Peni has agreed to an alcohol management plan and the Club will continue to provide him welfare and support.

Peni has demonstrated genuine remorse for his actions and the Club is working closely with him to ensure he has a clear understanding of his personal responsibilities.

    • Of cause he has a issue, itsi proben in the way his been caught acting. Has to be his last chance and to sort himself out if not piss him off.

  • Great news, I told everyone this would happen last week.

Expect Terepo to start a lock, with Moeroa back to the bench & Gower out when the team list comes out today.

    • Peni is best off the bench

      • Peni is very good off the bench as an impact player. He runs hard and makes good metres.

Having said that he also plays well at 13.

        • If I was to drop anyone for this weeks game for Peni it would be Evans. With Peni you know he will go at full steam from the moment he is on the field, he likely knows he has a lot to make up for, with Evans, its an Evens in knowing what you may or may not get.

          So Peni off the bench.

        •  Having said that he drops the ball too much because he dips his hands in vaso before games for some reason.

          • Nick, his handling has been much better in the last season or two and he's even developed an offload, as well. I also love that line he runs, he keeps in improving as he gets older. I was going to say matured but after the flight fiasco I couldn't.

            • Very much agree, his handling has improved a lot, & one could say not before time, his running though makes him a hard man to bring down, rare to see him downed by one tackler.

    • It was really well handled. Immediately suspended him, gave it time to cool off and worked with the integrity unit. We didn't hear a peep after the initial club statement.

  • Great news, we just have to ban from going back to New Zealand or Tonga.  He only seems to get into trouble over there.
