It could work. I can't say I've noticed Nathan ever kick for us in general play. I could've missed it if he has.
I usually gotta watch our games a 2nd time because I'm too busy going off my head when our opponents score all their tries directly from the penalties & errors we gave them over the 80 minutes to notice these things.
Like you say, Peats is an awesome defender and is constantly barking orders to his forwards. When you look at D.C.Evans, he could dead set play in the 2nd row because he too, is a great defender and he is big for a half. So, why not the other way around with Peats ?
EDIT - But since I pressed the "save" button on my comments, I read the 2 comments above mine and realised we finally have a really good hooker after all these years and it would be dumb to buy another hooker just to put peats at #7. We should see how Sandow goes and if he fails, then we should buy a proper half back instead of another hooker.
I'm hoping ZDC who is usually a hooker himself, but has been moved to half back recently, continues to develop and we wont have to spend a fortune on a new half back again.
think its the same reason Farrah and Smith are still hookers..because they are hookers
