Parramatta chief executive Paul Osborne believes Quade Cooper will stay in rugby union as he has not heard from the Wallabies star for a number of weeks.
Before the Wallabies' trip to South Africa, Cooper had been heavily linked with the Eels and is still yet to make a decision about which code he will play.
Parramatta reportedly tabled an offer of around $1.5 million for Cooper to switch over and become the club's key playmaker next season and forego leading Australia's hopes in the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Osborne said the same money was still there to bring Cooper to Parramatta, despite the club announcing the signing of former representative forwards Reni Maitua and Carl Webb during the week.
However Osborne isn't confident about the signing and said he was never holding his breath.
"I think he'll stay in rugby I haven't heard from him for a few weeks," Osborne told AAP.

of course he will. With a World Cup looming and a Wallabies team in transition and improving, and FINALLY fullfilling a long long dream of being a Wallaby starter - WHY would he consider leaving Rugby for Parramatta now.
And surely the governing body of Aust Rugby know what a genuine once in a generation superstar Cooper is for Rugby - and could match (and indeed OFFER MORE) than any offer Parra could muster
more significantly though, for Cooper - the World Cup surely out trumps everything else.....even Parra lol
I never once believed this move to secure Cooper was anything more than a pipe dream , most probably Cooper was using Parra to test his worth - to gain further leverage with any future RUGBY negotiations
World Cup....Parra....World Cup....Parra.....????? really !!!
