  • I picked up on that too, it's something i have been suggesting for a while on this site. He more or less said that the senior players have been a problem for a few years now.
Im all for a leadership change as i feel the current senior player leadership group have failed and there seems to be a devide between the older and younger players. I have been sitting on some disturbing info from the past couple of years that would surprise a few people.
While the senior players have all been terrific players over the years its time the younger players took ownership of the team and made it their responsibility to succeed. Mannah and Hayne would be my choice as co-captains as i feel Mannah is destined to leed the eels at some stage and the extra responsibility would make Hayne an even better player.
  • I agree. Cayless has had very impact or ability to bend the line in the defence for a long time now. Hindy is a machine but slows the game down like cayless alot, in a game where quick play the balls and movement up the middle is essential.

These guys are great players and representatives of the parramatta eels but yeh there time is up.The fact is caylo was never destined to win a comp and it may just take him leaving to finally get one.
  • Disloyal and ungrateful people... your attitudes are disgraceful! Cayless doesn't bend the line, no, but he offloads and he plays hard and fair and never causes trouble and rarely gave away a stupid penalty, Hindmarsh is the same AND they both make good metres from their hitups and tackle their guts out and lead by example. They are honourable players and should be treated with respect and reverence and NONE of this backstabbing attitude from any of you. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
  • Jpav let me tell you something about Paul Kent.

He is a deadset idiot that knows jack all. Whatever he says, think of the exact opposite and thats what the truth would be. Dont forget he works for the DT and him and Rotfield think theyre RL gods when it comes to inside info when in fact neither of them know anything.
  • i think ando didnt make tough decisions this year because theres certain players that cant be dropped or benched otherwise people get upset. you cant keep players based on reputation from the past, wayne bennett dumped some of the great bronco players and moved on and succeeded. its nothing personal. does anyone think that cayless and hindy an burt are going to be better next year then they were 7 years ago? why keep mannah, horo, poore on the bench waiting and waiting to start the game every week. no wonder we lose young players.
Disloyal? dont think so. lets not neglect the youth but everyone has there opinion
  • I don't think Kent was referring to actual playing performance but more leadership
  • Typical of some members to actually agree with this idiot

If i see Paul Kent crossing the street, i sure as hell aint gonna stop for him.
  • MY points are about leadership nothing else, i would have all the senior players in my side i just feel we have nothing to lose by giving the younger players ownership of the team. It could be the best thing for the senior players, a new lease of life so to speak.

The info i am sitting on relates to attitude and i'll fill everyone in on what i heard when the time is right and that wont be while certain people are still involed with the club, i have to much respect and i dont think any good would come out of telling you all what i heard.
  • Fair call Eugene, but then you shouldn't have said anything about having secret info because now everyone wants to know.
Better not to have mentioned it at all and just given your opinion. Nevermind.

I agree with you on the whole though.

What about one senior player and one younger player a go as co-captains??
  • Yeah i was just thinking the same thing re the older and younger co-captains as you really cant deny Hindy, he has been such a legend for the club.

In regards to not mentioning my secrets as you called them lol, you are right there too that is why i haven't said anything until now. I was going to keep it to myself but wanted people to know there was a reason to my opinion in regards to the older players leadership.

Cleary and Yeo today too.
So if that's the thought process, Warriors deserve it too."
