"I highly doubt the eels will take him back but they won't let him play for another nrl team for the next 3 years, he is going to have to find a home in rugby, he has made his bed so must now sleep in it.

"Hypothetical question. Say Lomax doesn't go to R360 would we have him back or is he gone forever despite his release saying can't go to league for 4 years "

Wish we could say the same about the fans . My most exciting Eels era during our time in the NRL were 2001 season regular and the Tim Smith in his prime era . Those cross kicks were a thing of beauty . Attack attack attack .
He had the sweetest passing game I've ever seen.
It's a shame about Tim's Myth.
Yep, completely overrated, 40 try assists in a season, absolutely pathetic.
I agree - I thought he was a great talent. He needed to go to the line a bit more but that would have come in time.
His problem was (and probably still is) the demon drink.
Easily the most gifted young half to ever come through this club, sad about his mental demons, Smith was an absolute freak.
I was chatting to sterlo about Smith many years ago, he said he was the most gifted young prospect hes ever seen and told me he had more natural ability in his little finger than he ever had.
We have some real morons on this site , What Tim Smith did in his rookie year was unbelievable .
Tim Smith was a 20 year old kid who suffered from acute anxiety and depression , his anxiety was so bad that he used to pass out at training and was riddled with pins and needles in his hands and feet before games to the point the club doctor had to medicate him on many occasions .
Tim was also self medicating with alcohol which no one could blame him for so when you put all these factors together along with the quality of players he was up against it is pretty clear that had his condition improved or at least remained stable he would of ended up a champion.
Beat me to it Super, although, Poppa is right about him being slow, plus he wouldn't take the line on making it easy for defences to work him out.
That's like most young halves and is what sets young Cleary apart. Like Jack Gibson said about Sterlo, "He's quick between the ears." Unfortunately for Tim his career is a big "What if?"
Had he remained at the level of 2005 we'd have won a competition with him and he'd be up there with Cronk and JT. Although probably luck for NSW as he's from the Goldie.
Mate, I was a season ticket holder in 2005 sitting in the Brett Kenny Terrace. Taking the ball to the line is something that halves learn and work. He was 20 and in his rookie season and had a very talented team around him. His style worked that season.
