Past coaches

Everyday I come on here and the predictable Brad Arthur bagging is in every blog, not saying people are right or wrong, I have just been thinking to myself lately

What would this club look like if Daniel Anderson, Stephen Kearney or Ricky Stuart had not left/ been sacked? Think what you will about Brad, but I don't see any of those named making a change for the better

  • I thought Daniel Anderson was actually a good coach and very unlucky not to win a Premiership! He should have been given another chance!

  • Daniel Anderson was a great coach! I was sad to see him replaced, much less banned re the 2016 fiasco. Hope he can come back to serve Parra in some capacity! Much better coach than BA
  • Didn’t he screw us over in the salary cap fiasco????
  • Daniel Anderson had lost the dressing room by 2011. I read a report detailing it back in 2014, he was a good coach but there was a lot of disharmony not just involving him but the board and the players etc.
  • People here want instant success, so if you have a mediocre year, people want your head. Now, if a coach supports your argument you will vote for that coach & swear he the man. But if he falls under this, change is needed & their no success, he just added to the long list of useless coaches this club can't get right. DA was a victim of politics, yes he was released due to the change of board. The guy can coach, but as usual the board ruin something we could have built on.

This has been our biggest problem, I don't want to mention names but a again, the board caused our down fall during the salary cap years but who worn the wrap? BA, those years are now counted as failed years under his rein. New admin come in, dismantle our coaching department, BA gets the blame, harsh but that's reality. I mean look at Bennett at the Knights, he didn't have what he had at the Broncos, how many spoons? Back at the Broncos, back in the 8. But in all that, Melbourne & the Roosters have been the most consistent Sharks another, but they are under salary cap investigation. So these two MS & SR clubs are the ones they constantly get accused of not being under the salary cap... Are they getting away with things that help them get a top side in first grade?

So how do the do it? TPA? Every argument you have for BA to be sacked, their an answer that backs his stay. We need a coach that has had success in the NRL, hmm yes sounds good. Enter Hagan, Stuart, young coach that comes from a good back ground, enter Kearney, Taylor, bring in someone that Parramatta... Enter Brad Arthur, so we've made a full circle, gee takes me back to all the boards that have lets us down. Nothing will change till round 10, I do believe the team will turn it around, but can they win the Comp? The answer no, heaps better teams & coaches some we wanted at our club, will also miss out but they will do better than us.

All I'll say, the board need to get their shit together, once that's in place, our salary cap will work, better recruitment will help, better future will come about. We are all wanting the same thing, it's just that we We all have different reasons to blame, it's not our fault, it's this bloody club that can't ge it right.
  • Daniel Anderson was a bloody good coach. Ridiculous we punted him.
