Passive and Agressive Props

Well we now have the ying and yang of Prop rotation, first we have the 2 most aggressive running fowards known in the NRL Webb and Fui two bookends that would pretty much F@*k any defensive line up.Then youv'e got the nice guys Mannah and Poore two of the nicest props that bend lines with honest hard work, pretty much either way you look at it youv'e got similarities of Steel which is cold, hard, tough and strong pretty much break anything you hit it with then you have water which has fluidity, flow, flexiblility but concentrated into a compressed force pretty much slices through anything.Fitness will be the key for Webb but throw this bad boy in the mix together with Fui both ready to rock will only force the NRL to label our games as Parental Discretion Advised and other teams signing waiver forms and next of kin contacts 2011 makes for interesting viewing.

  • If only we could get a halfback to reap the rewards.
  • Joeyboy - until Webb gets fit and re learns how to play RL he is one of the MOST passive players in the game.
He struggles in 2nd grade games to make any sort of impact.

Webb could be Mateo's replacement - no one (including himself) will know if he is going to "play" or bludge in any given game.
Mannah and Fui - with Poore and ?????????????????????
Maybe Shacks will have to move into front row.
  • Oustanding blog!

"...label our games as Parental Discretion Advised and other teams signing waiver forms and next of kin contacts 2011..." love this bit. I'm not too sure about Webb yet, but I think Maitua could be a great signing.
  • like ive said in all the other blogs webb will get flogged in the pre season he will be fit and ready to go the 1 problem with him will be if he gives away too many penalties

maitua could seriously turn out to be a fantastic buy he is very very keen to revive hes career
  • carl webb is like getting the ''undertaker'' from wwe playing for the eels, he has real mongrel guys, and can off load.
over the years teams with tough head packs , said parras pack was to tame.
now in 2011 we have to feared props in fui fui and webb, plus a tough poore, who should be better next year.
over all pack next year looks great.
morts at hooker, maybe hayne at 5/8, who will be half back guys, the missing link.. and where will humble play , half like sterlo wants, who will play fullback burt, and loko on the wing with grothe.
let us get some real help going to help ossie.. who will be our team in 2011..
  • joeyboy - love your take on what is going to happen next year.

Pity that running is only half the game!

Webb & Fui will make a combined 20 tackles per match ...meaning Hindy, Horo, Smith, Mortimer, Robson etc will be doing all the tackling yet again and have no energy to attack with. Without a playmaker we again are left with a where do our points come from scenario ---- oh yeah, we have Hayne!!!

I can't see these two latest buys (Webb & Maitua) as getting us any closer to that elusive premiership. However, I suspect Murray has been bought to fill the playmaking half role (why else buy him?) but he would have to be something special to do that.

2011 looks like being another year of inconsistent and frustrating results. But maybe 2012 is the year???

Of course, should your scenario above prove to be correct I'll be cheering the house down!!!
