Really great news from the recent Leagues Club AGM.
- Phil Sim and Mark Jenkins were re-elected to the Board.
- Peter Wynn appointed as 'Patron of the Leagues Club'.
All Constitutional reforms were passed.
This means:
- A higher threshold for calling general meetings. (To avoid the circus we had last year)
- If a member asks for a membership list the Club can identify that member.
- The grounds upon which a member is ineligible to be appointed or elected has been extended (which means certain members will be ineligible to run for the Board).
Here's to an era of stability and prosperity for our Leagues Club.

Presuming you mean a higher threshold for calling a SGM (Special General Meeting)? AGMs by definition are only once per year.
That's pretty scary that previously anyone could walk up and demand a list of members without having to identify themselves!
Having Peter Wynn as Club Patron is a great idea. He bleeds blue and gold.
Yep, you're right. I fixed it up.
Really great news, onward and upward!!
Yes it does reinforce the original integrity of what the board were always hopeful of achieving.
Phil Sim will continue to represent the type of values we have wanted to obtain. I am personally very happy to see him realected.
Further to this hopefully we may see soon rather that later that Phil becomes a delegate board member to the football club. He would be a great choice for such a role.
The higher threshold is massive for the club. It's jumped from what 100-200 people to something like 2,500 people and continues to increase as the club gains members as the reform means it's a percentage of the voting members.
Good to hear. Now to fix the NRL board with the appointment of a few members with actual football admin experience rather than "long time fans" who work for accountancy firms etc.
" apparently " the leagues club board have no power to influence the NRL club board ...
I like Phil and all , but we have not seen much over the term of his positions to crack the champagne and balloons . It's been a bit of a dog's breakfast if we are being non bias . Obviously he's one man , but what makes his reappointment any different to the last few years ?
