I was thinking the last few days why Parramatta don't have a connection to Fiji. We have the hottest Fijian star in the NRL and we are still yet to ink some sort of deal with Fiji. If It was me I would be jumping at the opportunity to take a trial game over there and selling Parra to Fiji. I would be talking to Semi and be asking him if he has any cousins who can play the game or know of any other hidden super stars. Why we haven't done something about taking the opportunity to explore Fiji really blows my mind.

Ive been saying the same for years BK, its the Fiji's and PNG's that we need to nurture and have club ties with, forget about America and Europe pie in the sky stuff, i totally agree with you.
There are some subtle connections between the Eels and Fiji rugby league but not as much as there can be.
To be honest, most clubs haven't really made any sort of connection with the regions, even though they have players there.
Likes of the Storm, the Raiders, especially, with Koroibete & Waqa respectively.
But it is something that can improve and something that should happen.
I might look into it and see what is said.
With the difference currently between the QLD and NSW cup, I would be looking north of the border, maybe PNG Hunters at a stretch but they are fairly raw and would need a hell of a lot of time/coaching before being NRL standard. Do the Eels have a talent scout in QLD?
Johns has been working for manly for ages and will be working with the Roosters from 2016. He doesn't even live in Newcastle. My bet will be zero players that Johns finds will head to Newcastle.
Depends on the schedules of the players, training load/work load, other commitments, family etc.
Again though, I can raise it and look into it, and see what is potentially said about it all beyond brief, preliminary mentions.
