The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have tonight announced the formation of The Premiership Club at the 2014 Hall of Fame Legends Gala Dinner at The Star in Sydney.
In front of an audience including the Hon Nathan Rees, Member for Toongabbie, Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Councillor John Chedid, Deputy Mayor Paul Gerrad and his fellow councilors of Parramatta City Council, Club Patrons Alan Overton AOM AM and wife Merle, and Don Ritchie and wife Shirley and Hall of Fame inductees and their families, Chairman Steve Sharp explained the plans for the exciting new initiative.
"The Premiership Club will passionately support the players and the football club in achieving its goal of winning NRL premierships, as well as providing assistance where needed to enable the Parramatta Eels’ success on and off the field and help attain its objective as being the most successful sporting organisation in Australia," Sharp said.
"It will also support the club by establishing a community and education foundation and will develop a network of members to support the club's key strategic community based initiatives."
"The Premiership Club aims to grow into the most significant and professional supporter group in the NRL."
Australian businessman and philanthropist Bill Moss AM has agreed to be the founding Chairman of The Premiership Club, and joined Steve Sharp on stage at The Star for the announcement.
Great initiative by the club and I assume that this club will be comprised of businessmen so we can attain sponsorships and 3rd party deals to go towards the player's contracts.
