Parramatta Eels' Kaysa Pritchard involved in another off-field incidentParramatta hooker Kaysa Pritchard almost found himself in serious strife after allegedly attempting to stop paramedics from assisting a mate who had suffered a drug overdose during a night out in the city.Pritchard, who earned notoriety for allowing teammate Ken Edwards to take a urine sample on his behalf last year, was involved in another off-field drama in March. A night after being part of the Eels side that defeated Canterbury in round three, the younger brother of former Bulldog Frank Pritchard was involved in another bizarre episode. We'll let the police statement tell the tale: "At about 12.15am on Sunday, March 20, police were called to Dixon Place in Haymarket for a suspected drug overdose. As they were assisting NSW ambulance paramedics in treating a 22-year-old man, another man, aged 21, allegedly tried to prevent them from rendering aid. No police action was taken and the older man is expected to make a full recovery."AdvertisementIn strife again: Kaysa Pritchard. In strife again: Kaysa Pritchard.Photo: Getty ImagesPritchard is well liked by teammates and staff and there is an opportunity to gain more game time following the departure of regular rake Nathan Peats to the Gold Coast. However, officials are concerned about the company he keeps off the field. Pritchard has been told in no uncertain terms to mind his behaviour, as the Eels can't afford any more dramas following the salary cap scandal and the much-publicised problems of star playmakers Kieran Foran and Corey Norman.Parramatta declined to comment on the incident, although it is understood the NRL integrity unit was informed and no further action will be taken.More Marshalls in offingHoping to return to top-flight footy: Jordan Marshall-King.Hoping to return to top-flight footy: Jordan Marshall-King.Photo: Glen EatonBenji Marshall isn't the only member of the family seeking an NRL contract for next season.Marshall's younger brother, Jordan Marshall-King, is hoping to return to top-flight footy following a sabbatical. Marshall-King was part of the premiership-winning Wests Tigers NYC outfit in 2012 and appeared on track to follow in his sibling's footsteps. However, the 24-year-old fell out of love with the game after a series of injuries and needed a break.Having watched yet another member of the footballing family, 20-year-old Jeremy, edge towards his own NRL dream as part of the Tigers' NSW Cup side, Jordan wants another crack at the big time."I'm thinking about making a comeback, having a good crack at it," Jordan said. "Seeing how good my younger brother is going has got the fire going inside me again. I reckon he's pretty close [to NRL selection], he'll get a good crack at it."The Marshall brothers are also outstanding touch footballers, with Benji first making a name for himself playing for Australia's World Cup-winning mixed open team in 2003. Jordan has followed in the St George Illawarra star's footsteps by making the Australian side that beat the Kiwis 3-0 in the recent Trans-Tasman Touch Football Series."It was hard to stand up to the haka, me being a proud Kiwi and growing up in that sort of culture," Jordan said. "Wearing the green and gold is always an amazing experience, something I'll never forget. I call myself an Aussie [now]."Sironen on way out?Curtis Sironen is on the outer at Wests Tigers, who are unlikely to stand in his way should he want a fresh start elsewhere. The son of legendary Tiger Paul Sironen earned a call up to the City Origin side again this season, but is languishing in reserve grade. Given he is on good money – and the Tigers are jammed for salary cap space next year – he could be on the move before June 30 if another club is keen.Smith a class actIs it any wonder Queensland keep on winning Origin games when they have absolute professionals like Cameron Smith in their ranks. Not only did the Maroons captain attend Storm training on Friday following his Origin exertions, he stayed behind well after the session had finished to practise goal kicking as part of his extras.Symonds heads northTom Symonds has played his last game in the NRL. The Manly forward has been granted an immediate release that will allow him to shift to Super League side Huddersfield. Symonds has made 87 NRL appearances for the Roosters and Sea Eagles, but has only played six games in the top grade this season. At 27 years old, the former City Origin back-rower will be a handy pick up for the Giants.Storm sign Addo-CarrMelbourne Storm have signed Wests Tigers flyer Josh Addo-Carr on a three-year deal. Addo-Carr is one of the fastest men in the NRL and is a handy replacement for rugby-bound winger Marika Koroibete. The Storm were hopeful of getting their man before the June 30 deadline but the Tigers won't provide an early release.Hopoate backCanterbury's decision to grant William Hopoate permission to miss Sunday games on religious grounds is an admirable one, but it hurt them last weekend. The Bulldogs were caught short when Josh Morris was called up as a late replacement for injured Blue Josh Dugan. There would have been the temptation to put in an SOS to Hopoate, but the "Family Club" has respected the devout Mormon's desire to put his faith first. The former Sea Eagles and Eels three-quarter returns for Monday's clash with Cronulla after missing a month of Sundays.Cronk deal nearMelbourne are close to formally announcing the retention of star halfback Cooper Cronk. The Queensland and Australian No.7 will sign a two-year extension worth about $1.7 million, ensuring he remains a one-club man. The contract extension will ensure Cronk joins the magical 300-game club with the Storm, a milestone he may even achieve this year if his team goes deep into the finals.Thriving in great outdoorsJamie Lyon isn't the only keen pig hunter in the NRL. Promising Panther James Fisher-Harris grew up as avid outdoor man in the tiny town of Kokohu in his native New Zealand."I've grown up in the outdoors going hunting and fishing, going pig hunting to get some food," he said. "If there was something happening in the family, like a 21st or a wedding, we would go fishing or hunting to feed all the family."So what is scarier, tackling a prop or a pig?"Probably a pig," he said. "It's got tusks."Melbourne keenThere's plenty of interest from rugby sides looking to tempt him back to New Zealand, but Nelson Asofa-Solomona is poised to re-sign with Melbourne. The monster forward, all 200 centimetres and 115 kilograms of him, has already made 18 NRL appearances at the age of 20. He will be making plenty more after committing to the Storm.http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-league/sin-bin/parramatta-eels-kaysa-pritchard-involved-in-another-offfield-drama-20160603-gpbi00.html

  • If this happen in march how come we hearing about it now

    • The media have probably just got their hands on the police report.

  • Yes. An article about an event that didn't even attract any attention from the integrity unit.
  • What exactly did he do? Was is really news worthy? Wtf
    • What do you mean nitram? he allegedly tried to stop paramedics working on a mate who had had a suspected overdose, what if that was your brother or sister mate?

I cannot personally believe people are so happy to have human beings like this at our club if true, we should have booted him long ago when he was caught cheating drug tests and putting his mates in the firing line.

Why do you cheat drug tests?

Another bit of the rot at our club.

  • I didnt even bother reading more than a few lines of this article, but if you go back to the urine swap blogs i stated many times that KP was a known partier and a dope, hes another thats right in the silly scene, i dont think he has a 1st grade future regardless with us, but its only a matter of time with him, another bloke who will let us down.

And how fucking selfish and stupid would you have to be to try and stop paramedics working on somebody who is feared to have had an overdose, absolute fool if thats true.

    • What an awesome friend though. In your hr of need when you need to count on your friends to help you he trys to stop the ambo giving you a life saving shot. Hhhmmmm
    • This just outlines how we are all sheep to the press, Chinese wispers then go to media then goes to ppl like 1 eyed and they put some spin to there liking onto it.
After hearing this I think we should all take a big breath and think would anyone really do that, if the real story ever comes out, it will be a positive one but that's not what everyone wants.
  • Maybe our players should stop being such dead shits and fools Nonna and the media would find it a lot harder to come up with stories like this.

  • Not to mention anybody can read between the lines here, if true its just a prime example of the quality of the human beings we have at our club, lets try and prevent the ambos working on a mate who has had a suspected overdose FMD

Lucky the ambos were there or we might be hearing stories of how poor KP had to cope with the terrible concocted tragedy of 'finding his mate dead', wouldnt you love a mate like KP.

A bloke that gets his mates to take urine samples and fights paramedics from helping his mate during a suspected overdose, when is the penny going to drop with our club and blokes like this.
