PARRAMATTA has formally approved a three-year offer for superstar Jarryd Hayne worth nearly $2.5 million.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal the club has rubber-stamped the offer which is expected to tabled to Hayne’s manager, Wayne Beavis, this week.
Hayne’s deal would be worth around $800,000 a season — the same money which lured Kieran Foran from Manly to Parramatta.
Essentially, Foran’s money will be used to attract Hayne back to Pirtek Stadium.
Could Hayne bring the good times back to Parramatta?
St George Illawarra and Gold Coast are also eyeing Hayne. The Titans were a realistic chance but Parramatta are now clear favourites.
Eels administrator Max Donnelly and Parramatta head coach Brad Arthur have been in discussions about the Hayne offer.
Parramatta have been working on the club’s salary cap to ensure Hayne can be signed without acting improperly outside the cap. Hayne could also attract some legitimate third-party agreements.
Donnelly was reluctant to comment on any offer but told The Daily Telegraph: “Yes, the club is interested in Jarryd and it’s a matter of sorting out what we have available to offer him whilst complying with the salary cap. I wouldn’t be going there unless Brad (Arthur) wanted him (Hayne).”
The challenge for Hayne now will be whether he can return to rugby league — and Parramatta — and become the superstar he once was. No one would want to bet against it happening.
IT would the end of a long journey if Hayne were to return to Parramatta.
Just last week, Titans CEO Graham Annesley said: “Any NRL club would be interested in Jarryd Hayne. But there are a lot of things that would have to fall into place for us to be able to table an offer.”
The Sydney Roosters, South Sydney and Newcastle have already ruled out making an offer to Hayne. French rugby union club Toulon continue to discuss the possibility of signing Hayne, maybe for rest of this year.
Parramatta also expects to announce the retention of five-eighth Corey Norman shortly. Norman is said to have agreed to the deal but the club is yet to officially announce the signing. St George Illawarra was also interested in Norman.
Foran was officially released from his rich Eels deal last week.
Meanwhile Parramatta will continue their search for a new club chief executive officer, head of football and a commercial manager.

LOL at all this nonsense from the media, Jarryd will be back at the eels 100%
what about cory norman snake..
I think the NFL experiment proved money is not his sole motivator.
A little over 800K per season wow! I'd be surprised if the NRL would approve (value Hayne at that) and whether Hayne would accept it. Considering Hayne rejected 1.35 million per season for 2015 (I accept some of that was TPA's) I'd be shocked if he accepted 800K. If Hayne accepted 800K that would mean, Slater, Smith, Cronk, Thurston, Inglis, Farrah, S.Burgess, DCE and maybe Norman would be on more money then Hayne.
Of course they would they approved Foran at $800K, they approved Sam Burgess at $500K...there's not to many blokes in the NRL that get that sort of money as their base (notional value) on the cap.
Big Dave: I think that is very true what you are saying--doubts if NRL will accept and doubts if J Hayne would accept. It will be an interesting couple of days seeing how this pans out. Is it possible that the NRL will do another Izzy Folou and let JH go to union? They are stupid enough to do so. But there is a certain force in the NRL who would like JH in the Dog`s camp. To get him there they will offer him money from the war chest that they say does not exist. Only Canterbury need apply.
its seems max mr fixit, wants hayne and will be willingfor hayne to get legal 3rd party deals along with the caps $800,000 a season.
bring hayne back home, brings good media we hope, and hayne will bring sponsors back to parra, max says he will only agree getting hayne back if brad arthur wants him...maybe this is maxs big moment signing, cory norman and hayne as a package deal , rumours are cory signed and awaiting hayne to sign, then the both will go with max and brad arthur to the media this week
