Parramatta Ants

Like most of you I'm sick of being the little guy the NRL picks on.

We always come off second best with the refs and last night was beyond incompetence.

It's especially obvious with two particular bunker refs.

Last night just hit a nerve that I can't shake off.

Do we continue to take it up the chocolate starfish or do we little ants do something? You might ask how can I, an ant, do something I have no power?

Well, you do have the power because you are part of one of the biggest supporter bases in the country and like ants do, we need to work together.

I won't be watching another game of NRL this year and I urge you to join me in boycotting the NRL finals.

It's time we hit them in the hip pocket. It's also not enough for just you to stop watching 1 or 2 games. You need to call your mates, get on Facebook and Twitter, it's time to show the NRL we won't cop this anymore!

  • It's been going on forever but yeah the bunker was very selective about what was reviewed and even the dopes on fox agreed the play where Will was taken out was a professional foul and at the least a penalty - bunker inconsistency is the toughest one to swallow for me - on field ref can only see so much.

    • It's amazing how they went back several times for the Panthers, yet our ones were let go.

Why didn't Klein blow a penalty at the end when the penRef player kicked the ball away from the scrum?

  • My thoughts exactly Krumpt. The NRL season finished for me yesterday. Won't be watching another game and I'm filthy at what I saw from the ref and bunker last night. The penalty against Will Smith that gave them the winning penalty goal was crap as he didn't make contact with the head or neck. Penrith trainers stopping the game 3 times while we were attacking. Niukore penalised and put on report for tackling a player off the ball, however he just stood his ground and was run into. Professional foul not picked up by the bunker but they seem to go back to everything else, and the list goes on. Very proud of the effort our team put in last night against cheating officials.

  • The NRL caused all this !
Giving the ability of trainers to run on the field and stop play at anytime was always going to be abused by coaches.
If you watched 'Tiger Town' Madge was always screaming for the assistants to run on and stop play due to the opposition creating momentum.

The crackdown with anyone being touched on the head/face area was always going to cause players to look like they had been shot by a sniper when touched on the face. It's coached  and gives your team a massive advantage.

The way they have set up the rules for obstruction makes any defender who is in the slightest impeded to throw themselves to the ground and complain.

The refs aren't cheating , it's just that they are completely overwhelmed by the position the NRL and the coaches put them into.

That's the problem with the NRL, it continues to manipulate and change rules on the run without having the foresight to sit down and truly contemplate the net result of the change.

Who could blame a player in a grand final who is attacking a line to drop like Leota if he gets touched on the face, knowing a win may secure a premiership?
You want to know the future of the game ? - watch soccer.
universally adored but full of dives and manipulation. We used to laugh at them but we are headed there at breakneck speed and there is nothing we can do about it.

    • It's exactly what I took from Tiger town but  last night was definitely a planned move FH.

noticed you mentioned earlier that Ivan does this frequently as well. I hadn't noticed before but I question re last night did the ref get something in his head coz the trainer hadn't even got to player.

as for  JFH sitting down on the offchance that the attack set didn't eventuate- dead set rehearsed and others proves again the squeaky wheel theory alive and works in the nrl just as you say it does in soccer

    • ++ What the guy with the Fat Head said.

    • Fathead, my only qualifier is that the nrl bathes in money from gambling, and when gambling is king corruption is it's queen. Time and again this rot has influenced outcomes across sport, and after last nights bunker shitshow, I am not yet convinced all is swell.

      • Yeah. I remember reading Brendan McCallam article when he was discussing when Chris Cairns allegedly tried to get him to cheat. I'm sure he said that most of the one day and T20 games are rigged in some way.
We would be naive to think that there isn't some sort manipulation going on in NRL.
I cannot guarantee that officials like Klein are straight but I can absolutely and unequivocally state with utmost confidence that the game in both speed and interpretation is beyond them.

        • It really is beyond them on field, but the bunkeris powerfull,, it can overcall the ref and apparently is beyond reproach. I would love to see a transcript of ALL that the bunker whispers in refs ear. A few chioce words could heavily influence a fatigued ref.

  • Agree 100 percent with your sentiments.  I hate the NRL and the clown runnings the game.  Set restart is nothing more than giving the refs the opportunity to influence outcomes without their decision being open to discretion.  That is just a starting point.  What makes me sick, is out Club seems to do do nothing and say nothing to challenge the rubbish we have copped for years now.  As for the rubbish of a thing called a salary cap.....don't even start me.  One rule for one and another for others.
