  • Rory Brien is a machine!
Here are his stats since he first played lock against Brisbane in Rd 16 of this year.

Rd 17 v Warriors 15 runs for 120m, two tackle breaks, 48 tackles and one offload.
Rd 18 v North QLD 23 runs for 227m, 1 try assist, 8 tackle breaks, 35 tackles and two offloads.
    Rd 19 v Penrith 27 runs for 266m, 1 try assist, 7 tackle breaks, 58 tackles, 1 line-break and one offload.
    Rd 20 v Bulldogs 20 runs for 188m, 4 tackle breaks, 43 tackles, 1 line-break and one offload.
    Rd 21 v Roosters 18 runs for 183m, 2 tackle breaks and 45 tackles.
    Rd 22 v Titans 9 runs for 79m, 1 tackle break and 44 tackles.

    Talk about consistency.
Can't wait to see Brien in action in first grade!
Both he and O'Hanlon in particular are playing very, very well and it's good to know we have young forwards already putting up promising numbers.

Good to see the younger guys get recognised for sure :)
  • His junior club was the Cowra Magpies, and he was initially a centre/winger believe it or not, and he has made a very successful transition to the second row.
    Bit more info here.

  • This kid Brien sounds like a very young Hindmarsh when he was at his barnstorming best. I like the sounds of his stats and hope that he can bring them to 1st grade with himself very soon. I haven't seen
much of our Toyota cup side or Wentworthville but by the sounds of things we do have some young guns who should do well once given a chance in 1st grade. Come on Ando give these kids a go mate.
  • I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO proud of our young boys!

Well done to everyone who received an award.

Contrary to what everyone else things, I think our future looks bright. :-)
  • I was actually there early enough to watch the NYC game against the Tigers, and he does remind be a lot of Hindmarsh.
He's always in the tackle, and he always seems to be the last man back in some instances like Hindy is on so many occasions.
He's got a fantastic offensive arsenal up his sleeve as well, with a good fend stemming from his days in the centre/wing positions, and he has some good speed.
Despite the fact he's only 91 kg, he's doing incredibly well to play in the second row.
I'm really pumped to see Brien, Loko and O'Hanlon in particular get a crack in first-grade very soon.
  • Happy days are ahead even without major signings as long as they give these young guns their deserved opportunities. Young players have no fear in the top grade. Just look at some of the young guns coming through for the broncos and also the raiders for that matter.
  • The future is definitely bright Tinks!! :)

Jacob Loko, Rory Brien, Patrick O'Hanlon, Anthony Mitchell, Ken Sio, Domenic Nasso, Mitchell Allgood, Peni Terepo just to name a few are all playing great footy!

Only a matter of time before they get to prove their worth in the first-grade side.
  • Well said Adam! :-)

I am in 100000% agreement with you!
