      We have some good juniors, that's how you save money to keep players already in your system.
      All well and good saying "sign him and him" but after 2 years what happens?

This is absolute crap speculation. It's not Nov 1 yet and there's no way there's anything happening behind the scenes while Newcastle are still in the hunt for a GF. Typical journo throwing darts

  You think clubs and agents do not talk before Nov 1? Of course they do. It has nothing to do with Newcastle. All clubs talk to players in someway before Nov 1. It can be as simple as talking to the agent and saying "Your client, if we offered this what you do you think they will say about it?" it plants the seed. They haven't formally put in an offer they can argue they are just talking with the agent.
  
  Newcastle being in a prelim frankly is irrelevant. If Best and his management want to listen to what Parra say, it has nothing really to do with Newcastle. Even then, they would do the same so they cannot complain. All teams talk to players prior to November 1.
  
  Could this be all rubbish like you said? Yeah, definately. But is there a possibility? Also yes, as all teams do it. There are ways teams get around it talking to management, then the management get back to the player. Best's agent also managages Kelly and Luai. You can legit talk to him about Kelly for example then bring up Best in that discussion to say they are interested and if we had the chance we feel he is worth this much.
  
  Could an agreement be done? Who knows but there is a possibility that Best knows what we will offer come Nov. 1. Even Holbrook has said they feel they might not be able to hold onto him.

I think he is the only chance we have at a quality centre the knights have salary cap pressure so offer something he can't refuse they wont be able to match it
