Without wanting to take away from Josh's blog about the refs, we have some serious issues that need to be addressed.
Josh's blog is here - http://www.1eyedeel.com/forum/topics/another-ruined-by-the-ref?xg_source=activity
This year Parramatta has won 3 of 12 penalty counts. That's 25% of games. That's not good enough. Not when we all know a single penalty completely shifts the momentum in a game.
Much has been said of our lack of on-field leadership, and it was as clear as day tonight. Now, I wasn't at the game, so correct me if I'm wrong. But where were the challenges against the referee for their terrible decisions? Where was the leadership when we got pinged... what, 5 or 6 or 7 penalties in a row? Where was it?
Parramatta absolutely lack aura with the referees. Cronk throws that ball to Slater and it's applauded. Hoff's gets called forward. Melbourne give away two penalties in a row, Smith is in the ref's ears in Melbourne get the next penalty.
I can't think of a time where we need quality leadership as much as this.
The modern game is flawed, and good clubs have good leadership. It's as simple as that.
For me, the referees soured a win. Wins shouldn't be soured like that. Un-frikkin-believable!

When you look like amateurs they go against you
I was happy with the refs tonight - and I am not usually
The only stuff up was the last try
Don't forget the string of unchallenged penalties, pinged for hand on ball out of the blue (how often does the reverse not apply?), Freddie acknowledging a boo'd penalty early in the game when we did nothing wrong, the knock-on try, the forward pass. It happens every week.
100% Spot on Tim and it all comes down to our captain and leadership, its been happening for years.
Pleased to hear that. Mind you, Scott is becoming very undisciplined himself. Really hope Arthur fires up at presser. But I know it won't happen...
