Also, can anyone see Lorenzo Talititiana being a future first grader? He's very small to be playing in the front line.  I cant see it unless He's a superstar in attack.

That with maybe someone like Petrus pushing for a start. That is a pretty good line-up.

    • Do you really rate Lorenzo Talititiana.  He looks like a spot player in defence.  Looks very small for a front line player

      • I'd have thought Joash would be an easy target too but I thought he defended really well last year. Attitude and desire goes a long way in defence. I reckon Ryles made a mistake letting Pezet walk in over Joash

        • Dob't know why we got pezet man. All we needed was a winger, or a prop not some loan player.

          • Agree probably because the administration and coaching staff have zero idea

          • We should have went with Sandon Smith, at least he was first-grade ready and still would have been cheaper than Pezet. Smith is killing it for the Knights right now and we're getting our pants pulled down with both Pezet and Volkman, while taking a punt on Lorenzo who we really have no idea if he's ever going to have an impact in first grade.

This is one we got wrong for sure.

            • Remember we only offered him 1 year as well. But is he killing it? He's playing alright but if Ponga was playing Smith would be 14. That's just fact. His defence also has been a bit suspect.

              • Knights are winning without Ponga and Brown in the Halves... They're averaging 25+ pts a game and have only have 20+ put on them once. Plus, his goal kicking is pretty steady and better than Moses' shitshow at the moment.

While it's obviously a cumulative effort for the Knights, I'd say his form in defence and attack is killing it.

        • 100% agree, Angry.

JR spoke publicly about Pezet having to ‘earn' the jersey over Joash, which clearly didn't happen.

He's a young coach & gets so much right we all applaud, just seems like this one was a really poor decision that has heavily impacted the Eels defensively.

Adam Douiehi was still unsigned with Tigers well after DB had committed to the Knights.

We don't know, he might never have been open to to the Eels & perhaps the Tigers had him locked on the promise of halfback, especially with Galvin exiting.

But watching him now he would've been the perfect fit, imo, until juniors are truly ready for week to week in first grade (especially defensively).

We only have to look at Pezet, who has come through a fantastic system, to see that not all juniors can transition into first grade defensively. Even if we have our next 5/8th in waiting, they are going to need years from here. Douiehi could've transitioned to other positions also as he aged / juniors were ready.

I know, its another shot at recruitment from the ease of an arm chair, but all else aside, we have really balls’d our 5/8th position for years to come.

          • Agree NOS, but there is an opportunity to get Burton, we should pay what ever overs we have to, its too important to fcuk it up again.....I am maintaining we can play Burton as a 5/8 and still bring our up our up and comers through, mainly by switching them in a fashion that is deceptive to the opposition and also encourage the respective strengths of Burton being an excellent centre as well. Just imagine how difficult it could be for a side to handle Renzo (I am still assuming he is special) in such a situation and being able to assist Moses with his kicking game, of course he also offers the value of that kicking game if Moses is out injured with the resultant experience and leadership he can advise.
