  • Where is EA when you need him, any good young juniors coming through at Centre other than Richie?

    • Araz nanva is about the only one, and Cyrus Bloomfield  who can play centre and fullback, other then that no one

      • From the talk on Nanva many saying he would be a better back-rower.

    • In another blog, EA stated him/her/them is in India

  • This is great. A fantastic advertisement for any fringey, we are now a club you can come to and grow within. Ryles is the one! Good on SR for continuing to work hard and now provide for his family by cashing in. All the best to him

  • Russell has surprised the hell out of me this year and it's been great watching him develop.

If true it will be sad to see him go.

My bet is we don't sign anyone and just promote from within.

    • Except Brian Kelly.

  • I can only guess that The bears offered somewhere around 550k, and we didn't want to get into a bidding war for a player who is replaceable.  Russell doesn't have good athletic ability for an outside back, and our for and against suffered for it in 2025. Whilst he's a solid player,  his passing ability and ability to beat his opposition is limited.   As a winger, I always thought his finishing ability was poor.

What Ryles did with Russell he can easily do with R Penasini or Nava

    • Nailed it Chief.

  • The issue what your finding here with the constant TOer is continually swapping out combinations. You can't compete that way we've got to keep these guys together for as long as possible.I mean right now if true not only are you losing Pezet in 27 your losing Russell also that's a disaster as your back to square one with your left side playmaker and left centre leaving.

Regardless of what's coming through there's very little guarantee there in attack or defense.Edge defense is key and your centre and back row partnership again is not a given if your continually changing it.

Yes we are banking on juniors and JRs system but it's the nuance that will take even more time which is only gained by spending time together hence why TOer in key areas is the enemy especially for a team that's in a rebuild.
