  My thoughts 100 percent Jimbo. I have been saying exactly this to everyone during the origin  period for at least 5 years. I swear i could've written this exact blog. :)

  I've also lost interest in the State of Origin! It's nothing like it used to be and to be totally honest I think there is some corruption in this whole State of Origin series and has been for awhile.

  I want to agree with this but I still get filled with that same sense of wonder and optimistic excitement when SOO rolls around. Are they picking him or him? Who will score first, only to be cripplingly disappointed. I say im done and idc but no doubt ill come back for more pain next year

  Jimbo, I'm a bit the same. I don't get as fired up for it anymore, but put that down to my age....40's. And I'd rather see parra do well. I used to love origin but the state of the game IMO has changed my view..like some on here I used to watch most if not all wkend games on fox...but not anymore. Channel 9 commentary too has beam bad too, but I guess we are lucky or some to have fox.
  To me the refs and or the admin of the game has be stuffed with too much, and refs do not ref as they did. Hence the ruck is a bloody joke...and it started with Bellamy back in abt 2006. Some say he's coaching to rules, but I don't agree. Look at the games when for eg. Brisbane and The Cowboys play...hardly any wrestle and as much as I despise them, the game is better to watch.
  Watching last yrs finals with Cronulla and Melb IMO was boring as....it's even watching forwards take the ball off scrums as the 10 m is non existence. Anyway back to parra next week, and hope we can snag another win....

  The reason origin lost its appeal is the removal of the fights and the shoulder charge . The game was built on a war mentality and now that's gone it's just another NRL like game between 2 states .
