Orf seezun officially closed

We are just two days away from the start of the season and today is team list Tuesday.

From today, regular in-season moderation begins. As always, the focus remains on rugby league specific blogs and discussions. Political and social blogs generally aren't permitted during the season - the only exception to this at the moment is discussion on COVID-19 (coronavirus) due to its impact on wider society as well as the potential impact it could have on the NRL season.

Remember, we're all Eels fans here and we only want to see the team do well and possibly lift that trophy at the end of the year.

Criticism of players and coaches is allowed. However, abuse of players, coaches and other members is not and will result in bans.

For a more detailed look at the rules of the site please see the Code of Conduct: https://www.1eyedeel.com/notes/1Eyed_Eel_Code_of_Conduct

I will also be looking to have some regular pieces of content such as game day blogs, post match blogs, 3,2,1 blogs etc. If you want to volunteer to post these blogs please let me know. The idea is that one member will be responsible for say the post match blog so we don't have 42 different blogs popping up discussing each match.

You can contact me on supereel22@gmail.com.

Update: HOE has put his hand up to post match previews.

  • And so it begins......

    • Yes, let it begin !!!!

  • Sounds good Supereel. Can't wait for the season to start & the non league related blogs mostly disappear. Looking forward to a great season for the Mighty Eels & I believe the 2018 season will have an impact on the team this season.

I have been watching last seasons games & it was amazing at how much the team changed the way they played over the course of 2019. If the Eels can get a few wins early & build on last season we should be in with a real shot.

I can't wait to see how the Eels go against the roosters & storm this season seeing these 2 teams seem to give it to us every time we play them.

I have me seat for the season at Bank West & I'm ready to watch our team be the team we know they can be.

    Go The Mighty Eels.

  • I can see it now , seven different blokes on here typing furiously to get the first team list Tuesday blog of 2020 out, the two smart ones have already done 4 copies with slightly different lineups ready to hit the button on the right list.but the official list must be pasted from the Parra site guys and since I know someone on the inside with a flux capacitor I already have you covered in fact I know who wins the GF but I won't spoil it for you guys.

  • Just letting you know now , the thing I fear most is not hungry rats, probably being suffocated by the Swedish female synchronized swimming team, that is terrifying.

  • Allah ackbar!

  • Sack BA

    • Thought the wooden spoon two seasons back would have been the end of him, a below average season this year and he is definately toast.

Hopefully for the fans sake we are a Top 4 side.

  • I thought we were having a good robust discussion around the NRL Season Launch commercial. That discussion was shut down twice.
I'm all for moderating abuse etc but it seemed that because the consensus of contributors maybe was at odds with Admin opinion the discussion was closed.
Maybe I'm wrong but this will become a sterile place if robust argument is deemed off limits.

Fitz replied to Cʜɪᴇғy Mclovin 🐐's discussion Joash to keep his 6 jersey - Pezet the back up for Moses
"This is just a thought, but I think that Pezet had to take up on his clause before the season started, or else he'd be locked into a long-term contract with the storm, so by being our backup 7 this year, it lets him get to the Broncos earlier than…"

Clintorian replied to Roy tannous's discussion 9 departures already,Btw thanks hands💙💛
"Bit of a shame we're losing Hawkins. He was the best backup 7 we've had in a while and done a great job while Moses was out.
Does that mean Volkman moves to 7 and Joash moves to 5/8 in NSW Cup?"

Poupou Escobar replied to Cʜɪᴇғy Mclovin 🐐's discussion Ryles never wanted Pezet as a long-term signing- Chammas
"These guys are pro athletes, not office workers. Their reputation is part of what motivates them.
As for Papalii, he will still be at the club in 2027. Moses will probably miss half the year so Papalii will get plenty of game time."

Perpetual Motion replied to Cʜɪᴇғy Mclovin 🐐's discussion Ryles never wanted Pezet as a long-term signing- Chammas
"Why? Did u watch Anastas podcast? Highly unlikely he would move to Parra for one year to play reggies when he could do that in Melbourne."
