Looks like theres only one trial game against the panthers again next year.

Are we making the same mistake we made last year when we looked very underdone the first part of the season?

Is one trial game against decent opposition enough? Especially seeings how unorganised we are and how uncertain we are with positions and combos id have thought it would have been smarter to get one or two more good trial games in, hit the ground running come rd 1.

If we dont start the season strongly the season will be over before we know it.

Are we repeating the same mistake we made this year?

I usually not big on trials because i dont like risking injury before the season starts but i think we need them next year.

  • They will smash us in the trial and in round 1.

This must be the recommendation by the AFL conditioning coach again.

Seems as if they learnt a lot from last year, typical Brad can't read what's in front of him.

  • Don't worry BA has it all under control, word is around the team that they are expecting the toughest pre season ever.
  • We could have ten trials mate it wouldn’t make a difference. Fact of the matter is our roster is garbage and we have a coach who would rather be dedicated to his garbage players than to the success of the club. We are going down in flames this year regardless of how many trials we get

    • i hear they have a drill called the seagul the trainer throws a chip on the sand at the beach and they all at once race to get it .. BA watches on telling the players the importance of not shooting yourself in the foot ...

  • 1: B French
    2: B Ferguson
    3: M Jennings
    4: C Gutherson
    5: G Jennings
    6: C Norman
    7; M Moses
    8: Jr Paulo
    9: K Pritchard
    10: D Alvaro
    11: M Mau
    12: S Lane
    13: N Brown

    14: T Mannah
    15: T Moeroa
    16: P Terepo
    17: B Takarangi

    This is not my side
But I reckon that will be BA side for round 1
If there isn’t any more signings
    • Probably right there King.

Sad that Mahoney will be overlooked for Pritchard, he added some quality from hooker when he was in the side last year.

I'd have Terepo in the 13 as an 80min forward over Brown, I thought he was more impressive there last season than what Brown was.

      • I wonder if BA will ease Mahoney back into the NRL side, especially with the first few weeks playing in the heat. Not sure that Taka should be on the bench though. I'd give that spot to Niukore. I'd also be included to link Gutherson up with Ferguson. Having Fergo in the side will definitely help French. I reckon we'll see him back to his best next season.

    • It will be interesting what happens with French if we don't resign Jarryd. He may get his fullback wish after all.

      • I would play Norman at play fullback if we don't re-sign Jarryd. That way we could introduce one of the younger halves (Brown? Salmon? French?) who have the potential to be there longer term. It also takes out any perceived tension between Norman and Moses as to who is running the show. I've often thought that French could make a very handy halfback if coached/mentored correctly. He has speed, vision and a nice passing game. Kicking and defence would be the key areas to work on. I'm just not sure that our coaching staff would be up to it. Someone like Matty Johns or Sterlo would be though.

        • Agree. Norman played his better games at fullback. French on the wing for that non tackling Jennings. Moses at no. 6. Dylan Brown at 7
