One for the bush coach

Saw Brad Arthur's post match sideline interview with Bracey, Joey and JT a short while ago, some of us don't like him, some of us really don't like him but I'll give it to him here, he's as honest, selfless and genuine as they come! Owned the "bush coach" tag in that interview and express his completely sincere gratefulness at getting a chance to coach in the NRL and after all the crap, the heartbreak and bs he has had to put up with he gets a grand final appearance to his name. Not bad for a bloke from the bush. I hope him all the best for next Sunday and as well all want a win, the team and Brad included, sometimes it doesn't pan out that way. We made it to the final two and we should be proud of our boys. There has been other coaches and other, sometimes better, teams of ours to make the big dance and still couldn't come away with the win, either as favourites or underdogs. If I'm being honest I think we need to put Jakob as no more than 18th man next week because we will need a big strong and fresh forward rotation to go toe to toe with either South's or Penrith. I'm not dissing the kid, I just think we need some fresh legs in the right positions after a prelim like that. Good luck Parra and go hard! I bleed blue and gold 💙 💛

  • Anyone got a link to that interview? I was to busy shedding a tear.

  • Don't they all coach lower grades, some bush others local park teams. He handed out a shit load of shit pies, eat up!!

    • Ok mate 👍🏻

  • Mate, how can you be selfless and honest when you keep selecting your son on the bench and not even using him?

    • That's a different can of worms. Although I don't agree with the selection, that one decision doesn't remove those traits from someone's personality.

    • This

  • When are some of you going to realise we need some on the bench to cover every position. Moving Guth to another spine position should not be an option - did you not see the tackle on Nanai?

4 forwards on the bench is nonsense. Our pack finished over the top of NQ because their big strong fit and battle hardened. In a GF we want our big boys playing as long as possible so unless for injuries there will be 2 players on the bench getting minimal minutes so get used to it

    • What positions is Jake covering?? Hooker and in the halves?

cartwright can play back row, five eight, centre, lock forward - does seem to be more versatile options for bigger minutes 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • Thanks for posting this AK! One of Arthur's best traits is his humility. He's owned being a bush coach standing there with no shoes on and giving the players the credit for the win-rightly so. That said, the change in our game after halftime was incredible and he would have had a big part in that change.

We're in the big dance and he has now coached a team to the GF. Not many people get to say that in their lives

"No, my point is more about Lomax's team saying they had exhausted all the opportunities they had on the table with the other NRL teams that were interested, none were, and the only offer came from Storm. Then they could say Parra are restricting…"
