When the Broncos can sign someone like Ben Hunt, a 20 game origin player who can play several positions including in the halves plus hooker for $500,000 per season, compared to the Eels who reportedly offered a 20 year old kid who had only played a handful of games with the Tigers approximately $750,000 per season and still fail to sign him tells the story.

    • It's not just a story Slippery...it is an epic tale of scandal and woe that makes me vomit in my socks

      • You vomiting  in your socks a lot lately Randolph....Barf bags a quiet cheap you know.....as for Slippery's comments about 750 for a kid that story is growing like a John Holmes erection......

Too much time with Wiz Slippery.....he is the master of "hyperbole"

    • yeah slippery that the tales of Parra town I am afraid.....The Broncos have had Origin teams for decades and really when you think about have underperformed for a long time they really should have a record like Penrith or Melbourne......I think this might also be the straw for Bellamy to call it ......and finally their slide away.....like Roosters in 05....

  • We're building nicely .

The next recruits we bring in have to be the right people. Blokes like Lomax ... physically gifted and competes hard but he won't win a comp . The fact he'd even flirt with R360 without achieving much outside rep honours tells you all you need to know . Guys like Critta fully buying into life at the Dogs and we have a bloke whoring himself out 1 year into a 4 year deal. I'm sure Ryles is well aware of this and really Lomax is the last of the recent BA recruits.
Full buy in is so important and if we continue on our path and use our cap space right we can really start competing for spots in the 8 and hopefully 4.

    • Can you blame Lomax though.

Buy in whens Lomax value as a player going to be as high as it is right now.Its all well and good saying a player has to be this to a club but as soon as the shoes on the other foot fans and the club disregard players like there nothing.

I get it your talking a guy's livelihood and if he can maximise it that's the way the cookie crumbles.Loyalty is gone in this age of player and there careers are short.

      • Absolutely you can blame him . If he wanted to maximise his career earnings he wouldn't sign for the security of a 4 year deal .  As it stands he's using the 4 year deal to his benefit and seeing what else is out there for himself if he wants to break the contract. I don't blame him for wanting to maximise his earnings in sport but I also feel it shows a bloke who's universe centres around himself which is all well and good but not typical of the buy in required to win completions.

        • If r360 was around back then maybe he doesn't sign with us.

You know how this goes clubs disregard players all the time the door swings both ways with this.

Why wouldnt players think this way alot for the most part get one shot at this to set themselves up for life. While it's all well and good for a guy to be loyal to one club I just think these days when an opportunity like this presents itself you can't really say know.Basically one year in r360 covers his whole Parra contract time he has left.A better opportunity has presented itself and Lomax may have decided to try and exercise that opportunity. You talk security well that potential R360 contract offers a hell of alot more security than his current deal with us and if around when he signed with us he probably doesn't even look at us.Thank Mrs Arthur's home cooking.

  • There a tem full of athletes the broncos and they just got momentum nd the best team in Melbourne just couldn't go with them that's the scarey bit. These are the teams we have to attempt to chase down.I think building a team like Brisbane is a tough go but getting a system up n going like what Melbourne nd Riff has is the direction we are heading in.

Brisbane and Canberra just full of athleticism.

Going to be an interesting 24 months for us.

  • Melbourne had a few things that let them down. Their bench was atrocious. Kamikamica, MacDonald and Lasati had no impact. Compared to Brisbane who had Willison and Hetherington making a slight impact to rest Haas.

Also, the amount of ball in play with Brisbane's back 5 having momentum was the killer. Showed the limitations Hughes and Munster have in their kicking game. It's fine but not much finesse and power. They couldn't manage the game out of their back end and tried to kick their way out of bad field position, but the time Karapani or Mariner brought the ball back they were already on their own 35.

Their middles fatigued and the bench could not get into the game to combat it.

"Those i know who work with James Galvin mentioned he raved about Ryles when they met up with him for Lachy. Said he was very impressive as a man. Even when Lachy rang him to say he was going to Canterbury, how he approached it was first class."

"If TPA's are the case Mutt's, that is idiotic by us as we should be able to attract some of the best TPA's around. Particularly the way Parramatta as a city is growing to be the biggest city next to Sydney, the 2nd CBD."
