NZ Squad to tour England

Not that it bothers me because we want him to be fresh for 2016, but how on earth did Manu Mau not make the NZ squad to tour England next month?

  • 100% still holding a grudge

  • Kiwi's have an outstanding pack, pretty hard to crack the side.

    • Yep. Ma'u certainly would not let them down if he ever got the chance for the Kiwis but their pack is formidable. You could possibly make a case for his inclusion over the likes of Lewis Brown, Alex Glenn and Isaac Liu but it is no where near clear cut and incumbency will always win out in that case.

Should hopefully just be more fuel for the fire for The Chairman in 2016.

    • fair call

  • On many is on the Tongan squad
  • So he missed out on debuting for NZ, next stop Tonga

Dyldam Parramatta Eels second-rower Manu Ma'u and prop Peni Terepo have been named in the Tonga side to face the Cook Islands in their upcoming Rugby League World Cup qualifier.

Ma’u and Terepo also featured for Tonga earlier in 2015 in their Pacific Test against Samoa on the Gold Coast.

Mate Ma'a Tonga will play the Cook Islands on Saturday, October 17, at Campbelltown Stadium, kicking off at 7pm.

The Cook Islands are yet to finalise their team - Click through to see the Cook Islands train on squad.

  • Better players ahead of him. NZ are currently the best team in the world. Pretty hard to make the team.

    • very true when you think of the talent currently missing in Foran, Johnson and Mannering
