He can't play. That's getting ridiculous. Having said that, Moses and Luai are the No.1 combo for sure. Moses with his long boot and speed, Luai with his off-the-cuff style. They compliment each other really well. Cleary shat the bed last night again. His kicking was garbage both long and short.
Cleary was obviously injured. Probably something that happened too late in the week to bring in the redcliff halfback, who should be 18th man next game in case this happens again (both moses and cleary injured).
They would have brought Hynes in not Katoa, Hyne's know's the system, Katoa as good and as promissing as he is, could not possibly fit cold into a side like that. The other thing is that Luai play's half (yes he is not a half) and they bring Burton in.
Finally Cleary dod not "shit himself" they don't call him the "iceman" for nothing. 4 winning GF's, 2 Churchill medals, numerous Origin games, winning and losing and being man of the match, throw in Tests and recognition at this stage of his career of being the best of all time.
PS I would be surprised if Cleary's was a calf strain, no sock protection, the bandaged represented a thigh strain or maybe hamstring. Strains you recover from reasonably quickly. If he has a tear, then he is in Moses territory.
Agreed on Tedesco. He's an origin player through and through. NSW selectors need to understand this - they have only had 45 years of experimentation to get it right! QLD often select players that may not be performing best in that position, but they have the mentality required for origin. They have always done that but NSW doesn't understand this.
Only if he is 100% and cleary is not (again). Id prefer cleary if both 100%. But a 100% moses is better than a 90-95% cleary, its that close between them. On another note, Luai is the best option at 6 and there is no reason to drop him.
He should not even be in the equation. It's obvious the Cleary will be out and so should Moses. The state of Origin should either scraped altogether or played at seasons end or every 2nd year. My personal opinion is do away with it

"If Cleary was on the market, what would be his market value and how many clubs would be after him,? Consider his performances in the Grand finals he played in."

They shouldn't be standing in the way of players representing their state/country
You never know what happens, he may never get another chance.
They have to train for 10 days prior to the game, Moses is no chance. He'll be flat out playing for us in rd 19-20
If he does answer that call, club cannot be fuming if he plays and gets hurt again. That will well and truly be on them.

Added to that is, other than To'o, none of the Panther boys are playing well in Origin. I think Teddy or Paps would be better at Fullback for NSW.
