We're at the bottom of the ladder having conceeded 104 points after 3 games. In 2 of the games we've been belted big time.
We have enough NRL experience (8 players) to put out better performances but this is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. It's one thing to not care too much about winning since you want to groom younger players with experience, and the older ones to push for NRL selection but what confidence can be gained when you're losing with such big margins? This has got to be on the coaching staff. I don't think the players we have in the Cup side are park players but it seems they are playing so.

Some players like Lumelume,Cini, Loizou are not up to even cup standard and are nearly holding a place.
Throw in the inexperienced spine added with Nathan Cayless as coach and it shows in the performance
How Cayless is still coach is anyone's guess.
Yes, this is a big negative for our first grade team, it is very usual that a top NRL side is well supported with a top Reserve Grade.
Probably a good reason to keep Blaze in 1st grade and keep him away from that cup side
Honestly, i understand the purpose of him playing Fullback for depth, but i would just leave him at Centre in cup. He kid did really well considering he had not played the position against men before. But give him some time at that spot so he is ready to go next game he is needed.
I'd leave him at centre. He showed enough signs that he could learn and adjust as the game went on, imagine after 10 rounds what he could learn. Maybe I'm being too hopeful we've unearthed a real talent. I suspect his manager is pushing him to play fullback in cup as he won't want his prized asset earning "centre money" when he gets to 1st grade
He has to be groomed for FB and to replace Gutho in a season or two. Gutho would be great in the centres and would firm our defence there.
I reckon he'd kill it on the wing, let him learn his trade on the wing.
It's absolutely not good enough. These guys have to be putting pressure on the firsts for spots week in week out. There will be weeks when we are down on troops and these guys will get their chance but no one is putting their hand up at the moment
When you have three 19 year olds in your spine (Talagi, Sanders and Arthur) you will struggle for some time. Talagi being out had more experience with Hands going in and didn't improve. Cayless also is not coaching to how we should be playing and developing our juniors. Positive is whoever comes up plays well in FG for now.
