Shocking twist! Pauli Pauli has ditched the silver suit for the black and white of the Magpies.
He is lining up on the left edge for Wenty.
The Magpies will be receiving the kick off in the first half.
He didn 't get much game time on Friday night.
Great seeing him being used in this way and kudos to PP for doing so.
Alvaro has the first carry of the game. Wenty then come to their left via Pauli who earns the first penalty of the game.
Pauli takes the tap restart but loses the ball in the tackle. Mixed bag already for Wenty.
Penalty to the Dogs now so they go on the attack but much like Wenty they too lose the ball early in the count.
Maliota takes the opening charge in this set. The Polar Bear goes next before Pewhairangi comes to Pauli. Nice work from Api and Hunt puts Cecil Mackenzie down the left sideline. He is pulled down metres short and that brings up the last. The ball comes to Kelly who wants to bomb the other corner for Ben Fritz but the kick is a poor one and heads out on the full.
Hunt traps a difficult kick with his foot and picks up a perfect bounce for his efforts.
Ma'afu put pressure on the kicker and has stayed down afterwards. He has walked off the field and Danny Howard has raced out to take his place.
Meanwhile, back in the game Wenty have driven the ball down their right edge. Kelly turns the ball back to the left on the last with a banana kick but Pewhairangi was offside on the chase.

Canterbury nearly break through our left edge but good work from Maliota on the inside brings down the opposition centre. The Dogs have the lead foot on the last with their grubber rolling dead without too much worry.
Wenty once again get themselves in a position for an attacking kick. Kelly's range is far better this tim around but Rawalui is beaten in the air. That a pretty good leap by the Canterbury winger.
Poor defence from Wenty up the middle now as the Dogs cut them apart. The bullocking Canterbury forward links up with support but the Wenty cover defence do a damn good job trapping the pill before nabbing possession on the next play.
Hunt fires what looks to be a great kick downfield. It falls between defenders and rolls in goals where it JUST takes 1 turn too many for a 20m restart.
A penalty to the Dogs late in the count gives them a great chance build towards points.
Pauli Pauli makes a good tackle down the left but then gives away a penalty for holding on in the tackle.
Well now that will do me. The Canterbury player has decided to try a cheeky tap after the ref set the mark but lost the ball backwards where it was cleaned up by a Wenty defender.
Instead of playing on the ref brings play back for another tap kick.
The Dogs roll the ball in goals early in the set and look to have secured a line drop out but a chaser must have been off side as Wenty get the penalty.
A bit of heads up play of Kelly there. He beat the rushing defenders and threaded in a well weighted grubber. Unfortunately, Ben Fritz wasn't awake to the play and had too much ground to make up, meaning that the ball rolled into touch 10m out from the Canterbury goal line.
